Ooo are you going to have beardogs in this comic? They were ancient dogs that lived during the same time there were wholly mammoths

Andrewsarchus (which is actually related to ungulates) was extinct by the time the Pleistocene rolled around. They'd been extinct for millions of years. So no, I just wanted to draw one for fun. As for beardogs, they went extinct even longer ago, and weren't dogs. They were creatures which shared a common ancestor with bears, representing the ursine basal form. They are not actually part bear, part dog.
It's ok to make that mistake (it's a common misconception). A lot of people seem to think the ice age immediately followed the KT extinction 65 million years ago. In fact the last glacial maximum (or the ice age that humanity experienced that had wooly mammoths and stuff) was only 20,000 years ago, ending around 10 to 8,000 years ago. These misunderstandings lead to a lot of confusion about what ancient mammals existed when, and when they appeared besides.

Oh, man, I LOL'd at the wolf reacting to the Andrewsarchus. Perfect reaction!
You could include aurochs and some ground sloths. They existed at the time and the sloth at least would get the same reaction.

I don't believe the auroch was a North American species though. Ground sloths, I'll find a way to fit in there.

Oh, good point. I wasn't aware that was where BBA took place. I know sloths and smilodons existed alongside each other, and smilodons were found at La Brea, so i think they count as North American.

Ya. I will probably include some not strictly northwestern American species, but I'm sticking to the Western Hemisphere. I would like to find a way to include badassery like Xenosmilus though (even though it was an southeastern feline species). It's mouth is ALL daggers and it hunted pigs. PIGS!!
