Hah, I gotta say of all the possible pairings this fandom has to offer, Rainbowshy/Flutterdash/whatever is my favourite. >//u//< It just makes the most sense to me.

Not sure I can agree that Dash is "canon gay" considering the only characters to have any kind of romantic intentions were Spike and Rarity, to my recollection... which... doesn't mean that they're NOT gay, either, but I don't see them as having any established preferences either way.
But. Nitpicking over that 'cause I can't find words beyond "pretty...

Rainbow Dash isn't a canon gay character..... People just assume that for the sole reason that she's rainbow and a tomboy. Anyway, I love the background ^^ So prettyful.

Actually the Creater stated point blank that she has not given a sexual oriantation for any of the ponies, particular Rainbow Dash saying that to think that just because of her tomboyish attitude and traits does not make her such, and that such a belief is insulting for both straight and gay tomboys like Rainbow Dash.
My point is that saying she is the canon gay character is just not true. I have no problem in the least with pairings like this.

So if she didn't give the characters sexual orientations why dies Rarity go on about marrying the stallion of her dreams. Sounds pretty HETEROSEXUAL to me.... I'm just saying making them straight means they have an orientation too and I'm sick of the double standard.
Yeah, it doesn't CHANGE the fact that Dashie is NOT (as of yet) a canon lesbian. It's just fan speculation.

Actlly she was 'hoping' to marry Prince Blueblood... until she realized that he was more of an ass then a stallian. One of the worst 'princes' ever. Prince Charmless indeed.

Actually this is the way I see the characters' oriantation. In the world of Equestria, a pony gets involved with another because of who they are, not because of their gender. Meaning I could see each of the main six being with a clot or a filly. As such, at least for me, their is no double standard.
But I do have a problem with people making lesbian because of this: "Oh Rainbow Dash is a competitive, fairly agressive tombuy with rainbow colored hair"... she MUST be lesbian. I'm not a fan of stereotypes.
Yet I have no problem with Rainbow Dash being with a filly. Heck, mattering the fanfiction, I have enjoyed reading about Rainbow Dash being with one of three ponies. Applejack, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie. Yet I could also see her be with Soarin', not just Spitefire.

No, I'm saying in general when people discuss "sexual orientation" they only seem disturbed if you're discussing homosexuality. *shrugs* But that's just in my own experience.
Personally I don't give a shit about that much myself. I don't really ship ponies.. Although I DO have a soft spot for Rarity/Spike and Dash/Fluttershy. Really the only thing I think Dash would PROBABLY care about is weather her lover had wings. After all she loves flying so much how could she be with someone who can't.
So really I don't INSIST she's a lesbian... It just pisses me off when people discuss "sexual orientation" like it ONLY refers to homosexuality or bisexuality. If a character is heterosexual the idea of "sexuality" doesn't seem to bother anyone.

I see your point, and yes that is true. My beef is that whether staight, bi, or gay/lesbian, it needs to be shown in the show. If it is not, then don't go saying the character is any of the three. Just ship if you must no more, that is my policy.

It seems appropriate. I imagine that it's Rainbow making the move and Fluttershy's (hopeful, I really like this ship) reciprocation of those feelings.

This is my favorite pairing as well, and this is one of my favorite Rainbowshy pictures, so sweet and in character. I love how the background is lovely but doesn't detract from the pair, and I absolutely love how you drew Dash, especially her hair.
