Description I used George Michael’s picture from the album Older as reference. I found the use of shadow and the look in his eye captivating, so I started doodling. It’s not very tidy, and I can see now that it’s out of proportion. I liked it when I finished it. Got the expression more or less right, and his lips look quite fleshy. Practice makes perfect.

A4 drawing paper, graphite pencils and charcoal sticks, fixative.

Thanks for the comment on shading, I’d like to be better at it, but it’s difficult. Sometimes I get these detailed ideas about something I’d like to draw, but I don’t have the skill for it. Working on it though.
