Before the surface world was lost to the Starborn, the people above knew little of the sewers below them. Up beneath the sky and sun, they gave no care for the miles of foul pipes and rivers of waste. Such places were mentioned only in disgust, and were only fit to those unfortunate to work within them. To our surface dwelling ancestors, the sewers were places fit only for rats and filth. But some stories suggested other dwellers. Rumors of beasts that lived within the tunnels and pipes. Creatures from above that were sent below like fallen angels, growing to horrid sizes and obscene strength. There were tales of workers vanishing in the darkness, taken by these beasts, but in the end, they were just tales. Mere myth and rumor that was spun from thin air. Perhaps there was once a grain a truth to it all, or people just found the story amusing enough to repeat. The stories stayed as words, exchanged between coworkers and friends. That was until the Starborn arrived, and drove our kind into the sewers as the burning light of the sun scoured our world. The sewers once seen as vile and disgusting were now places of haven and safety. The foul pipes and tunnels became homes and villages. The world above became a wasteland, as the world below became a realm. But that was not all that changed. The Bdellis chased our people down into the pipes, intent on ending our kind. They took what once roamed these tunnels and warped them into beasts. These supposed myths and legends soon became cruel, horrid realities.

Yet another boss design for Rupture. Sooner or later I would have to do a sewer gator. Just had to find the right design.
