This character is an agent of the Imperial Security Bureau licensed to use the Force to hunt down Rebel cells. What a cool concept! As a llife-long Star Wars fan, it was fun to get to draw an Imperial officer in uniform.
Also, I need one of those hats.

Not sure. I wasn't given that level of detail. It's likely whatever the standard Imperial officer sidearm is, but then, Imperial officers aren't usually depicted as armed, so who knows. You'd have to ask the character's player.

Lucas was, of course, highly influenced by WWII in his original vision of Star Wars, so, naturally, there's a certain Nazi-esque quality to the Imperials and the Imperial uniform. That was very intentional on his part. Frankly, I'm impressed at the simplicity of this particular costume design. There's very little in the way of details, yet it comes across as menacing and imposing. Lucasfilm's costume design department has always been one of the best in Hollywood, and I only hope that the people in charge of the new movies continue that trend.
