-This character, which I played in the Pathfinder adventure path, Council of Thieves, is the grand-daughter of a bronze half-dragon and the daughter of a succubus. To keep from piling on the level-adjustment, I made her up as a tiefling.

Oh gosh I know the pains of trying to mesh character heritage without piling on an insane level adjustment.  I have a fey-blooded tiefling wizard (Shiazzkri) who did the alt specialization of the wood school for wizard and fortunately that suited to represent her fey ancestry/influence.
Another of my characters (Luthien) just ended up having a custom template built for her.  Draconic grandparent and weirdly enough coatyl influence (its a long story) turned out to be a pain to represent the way I wanted.

Anyhow Alianath looks and sounds like an interesting character, how did the game go/ how was playing her?

Very well.  Council of Thieves was a great adventure path and this character was a lot of fun to play.  She was the direct result of an encounter with a succubus in Rise of the Runelords, which took place only a few years prior, so, in order to make her a viable PC, I had her age at an incredibly accelerated rate due to her demonic heritage.  That meant that when the game started, Alianath was only 2 years old.  That made her a lot of fun to play as everything she experienced was utterly new and amazing to her.  She had adult sensibilities, a sexuality born of her succubus blood, and a child-like innocence and naivety, all of which combined to make for some interesting roleplaying.  Struggling to find a way to represent her odd racial heritage (for her and her mother and grandfather, both of whom I played in Rise of the Runelords) inspired me to write the book, Children of Wyrms.  Reworked versions of Alianath and her family appear in that book, as does a slightly reworked version of this art (the Alianath that appears in the book doesn't have any demonic heritage, so I had to make alterations in Photoshop).

That does sound like a rather intense RP as well as mechanics challenge, very neat.

And the book looks cool too.

She was cool.  I hope to play her again one day, as well as other members of her family.

... I didn't say anything initially because I dislike conflict but to be honest I find the idea of combining a two year old with an adult woman's body and the sexuality of a succubus undeniably creepy no matter which way I try to look at it.  And I'm kind of annoyed with myself for not saying so right away but there you have it.  Rapid aging is an interesting RP challenge, as is running a half fiend of any kind, but I think this particular combination is a mistake.

Uhhhhh...  I think you're misunderstanding me.  She wasn't a "two-year-old in an adult's body."  She simply aged to full adulthood over a period of about a year, body AND mind.  That's all.  She had a "childlike innocence" to her, but only in that she was inexperienced when it came to the ways of the world, much the same as someone who had, say, grown up within the confines of a village or raised in some other form of isolation.  There's was nothing remotely childlike about the character in any other respect.  The aging thing only came about because I wanted to play the daughter of my character from our previous game, and there was only about a two-year difference between them.  The fact that her "father" was a shape-changed succubus (it's in the module) just gave me the excuse to justify the rapid aging.  In fact, it mostly came from my GM, who, in the previous game, had my character's pregnancy happen over a period of about a month of downtime so that I could keep playing the character.  So the rapid aging thing was already established before I even came up with this character.  And this sort of thing is not without precedence in fantasy fiction, either.  One example I can think of is the HBO series, True Blood, where several fairy girls aged to adulthood in a matter of days.

Alianath was the equivalent of a 22-year-old woman.  I wasn't playing a 2-year-old in a sexy grown up body.  That would be stupid.

Oh good I'm really glad it was a misunderstanding.  That makes sense.

Soooo... does that make her a teifling with Draconic Heratage bloodline (from class or feats)?

overall I love her design and hope I neve have to meet her in a dark ally.

this reminds me: why is it THere are hardly and deviations of Qlippoth-blooded Tieflings besides Andrew Sperry's?

the character I played was a tiefling Abyssal sorcerer who had both demonic and draconic heritage feats. Those were all stand-ins for her in-game heritage, the granddaughter of a half-dragon, daughter of a (shape-chamged) succubus. Her mother and grandfather, were, themselves, played as Dragonborn (3.5 version) due to the need to avoid ECLs. This series of characters, and my difficulty in finding a way to represent their odd heritage was the impetus for me to write CHILDREN OF WYRMS, my Pathfinder supplement about the humanoid descendants of dragons (although, somewhat ironically, the templates in my book still carry CR adjustment). All three characters are used as NPCs in my book, although that version of Alianath lacks any demonic heritage.

Hey, thanks. Considering this was just a computer printout of a pencil sketch that I colored with markers, I really appreciate that!

That ussually works. Come up with an idea and find something in the rules that suits it.

Nice work

I had to make some concessions, but yeah. I did the same thing with her grandfather and mother (she's a third generation character), both of whom were made up as 3.5 edition dragonborn despite actually being a half-dragon and "quarter-dragon", respectively. Weakest half-dragon ever...

I've had to do the same many times. It helps to have an experienced gamemaster with a good feel for gamebalance, and a reputation of being a mood player, instead of one that goes for whatever gives the most plusses.
I just wish they'd acctually bother to read the backgroundstories though, I usually limit them to a paragraph or two.
(there were dragonborn in 3.5?)

Yeah, the 3.5 dragonborn are from Races of the Dragon. They're normal races that dedicate themselves to Bahamut and are transformed into dragonborn as a result. I ignored the racial backstory and simply used the rules as a substitute for characters of draconic heritage. This all inspired the book I'm currently working on for Fantastic Gallery, "Children of Wyrms," which details the humanoid descendants of dragons from half-dragons to draconic sorcerers.

I've been working on similar things for my own gameworld (it's been in the works for years).
Draconic heritage characters are somehow very appealing, but they should at least have tails... (I think that's the whole reason for the war between Dragonborn and Tieflings in 4th, tail envy.)

You'll like Children of Wyrms, then. It's all about playing characters descended from dragons. It should be out early next year.
