Aw, thank you! And yeah.... TECHNICALLY she is supposed to be dark-haired.... but artistic license came into play here... she just didn't look right with dark hair.

Yeah, Arwen is also known as Undomiel by the Elves, which means 'Evenstar'. Her necklace is a symbol of the Evenstar, and the films made a lot of references between it being linked to her own mortality. There's abook which is set before LOTR (and even before the Hobbit) called the Silmarillion - very tough reading, but worth it! In the Sil, there's a character called Luthien, who was the fairest and most beautiful of all the Elves, and who gave her immortality up in order to live and die with a mortal man, Beren. Arwen is descended from Luthien, and Tolkien drew a lot of comparisons between the two characters.
Yeah, I'm a sucker for it too - I wrote my dissertation on it!
