Description When we were separated, my father used to come by train to the town where mom and I had moved and visit me. He would come for a few hours, rarely spend the night over, and then leave again on the afternoon train. All those times while I was learning to say goodbye to him I would focus instead on the appearance of the waiting room, the railways, the man who sold the tickets, the departure board, the train... and that did quite a good job at stopping me from missing him even before he was gone.

That's how today I know everything about the secret geography of a train station.
