Oh well, it did take around an hour or so, but nothing too drastic...
Turns out no-one is getting this... The competetion I was invited into had not too serious competitiors, so no-one sumbited a piece...A pitty. :/ So I gues this piece is... I doubt I can say "mine" because it was meant for "someone"... Oh well, I'll see what I'll do with it.

Yeeep... I was surprised when I found out too...
Well, long story... But you like reading anyways. lol

So, on 6th or 8th May, this girl texted me, and told me that she wants to make a drawing contest. And by saying "she wants drawing contest" means "Eva, so what now?". lol But oh well, I basically gave her idea of what drawing contest should be (she never saw nor entered one before soo it took me a bit of typing), then I gave her basic text of invitation post, and I also gave her theme... (which was cats. She loves cats, so I knew that will be easily accepted. So I slightly ironically made cat as prize...)

After that, a looooot of people said "I suck haha, but I'll do it, but I still suck" (really though... -_-), and they had to make it in 10 days. Soo, after a "famous" person said that he most probably won't be able to finish it (and me having no prizes lol), the deadline extended for 5 days. Guy backed out last second because of exams and all in the end.

So after the last day of accepting entries passed, I waited....And then waited a bit more...and a bit more...Well today I got sick of waiting, and asked that girl if she would consider judging any time soon orrr... So then she told me no one sumbited anything... And she said that it's probably because she's not popular... Ohhhh weeeell... I don't give a damn about popularity, and I usually perfer weirdos... lol So I really doubt that was the reason... (whole thing was happening on Facebook)

Now I'm wondering what I'll do with those 2 prizes. lol

Well, if it was a writing contest and here I might have tried it, but I'm not on Facebook and can't draw...
I think that here is a better place to do a contest than on Facebook anyway, because this place is about art and Facebook is a mess of stuff!

This is how I found the contest that I did my most recent entry for. The results just came in and I didn't place... I mostly just joined because the contest annoyed me. XD

Seriously, the contest claimed to be open to all media, but it was so biased towards art!

• Any skill level is allowed, doesn't matter if you're just starting out or been drawing for years,
• All that matters is your own individual aesthetic.
• No bases allowed though.

• Of course, any medium is allowed, written works or whatnots, like I said, be creative!
• You can draw any outfit on my OCs, it'll be fun to see them wearing different outfits!
• You can draw them as animals/anthro/etc.
• You can draw my OCs with yours.

Read this and tell me it isn't really really geared towards drawing! (The first sentence especially irritates me.)
I'm not trying to say that the winners didn't deserve to win, they did. I'm just frustrated that contests like this are open to "All media" and then they word the writing part out of existence. (This isn't specific to just this either, it's all over the place! *sigh* I just wish that writing wasn't so looked upon as being less impressive than drawing, it isn't. In quite a few cases it's harder!)

Sorry for the rant... I'm sure the wording was unintentional, but I see it in a lot of contests and it really bugs me...
(Also, the fact that the Felicity character description played of Depression and Nihilism as a joke got me irritated too.)

Aww, thank you!! Lol, are you really *that* bad at drawing?

I agree, Facebook is one big mess of ranting, spoiled western kids (usually my age or year or 2 older), kpop obssesed people (they're actually best out of this mix, even my friend is that, so I don't mind them that much), ranting about video games and about how hard life is "cuz school"-at least in my case. I can't stand that. Really. Seeing someone to rant about how hard life is because they don't know if they should first buy merchendise and clothes or those super cool lens that are on sale and are gonna be sold out like tomorrow-they are depressed because of that. Ugh. That triggers me badly, because they never experienced what life is-thank god-but still. Don't rant and be depressed over nothing basically. (sorrry for my rant now) The only reason I have my facebook is that I can talk to people far away from me and people I met opn internet-even people from DA. 3 of my closest friends I met here on DA, and I have to say, talking to someone in private, that you met here is usually A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Especially when they didn't have aptience for long comments here.
DA is definetly better place for those stuff! (but then again, it wasn't my contest so...)

Ooo, thank you very much!! Oh... Didn't place? -_- IT WAS DISCRIMINATION AND UN-FAIR!! Ahh yes... Usually it's that visual art is more in spotlight than art of written word. Ironically visual artists usually are horrible with words and writing (just look at how many there are cases like "HELP I NEED  NAME FOR MY OC IDK WHAT TO DO". I am happy I'm an exception, and that I hav words covered well too. Makes life easier. lol)... I think you should find contests focused on writing... It would be much more fair.

Yes, I would have never seen anything of writing in this... It's focused on visual arts. Yess! I agree, they should say "all media" meaning like acryils, oils, graphite etc etc But not like this, this way really isn't fair, nor you have proper competetion to compare to. Hmmm, well if you ask me-an artist is an artist. We stick together, but it's true that sometimes visual arts are more "praised" than writing... I think of it like this: for us, visual artist the challenge is to create something words can't describe. For you writers, the challenge is to describe something the way you can imagine it in million ways, no way, or you can't even imagine it-you simply feel it. None of those are easy-by.no.means. However I think that those "art lovers" (if you know what I mean -_-) are usually focused towards visual more because they are too lazy to read.

Ahh no problem really, I completely understand... On the bright side though, all artists are weirdos, so I guess that's our junction point?

Oh, no, I get it. There's a reason I don't have a Facebook account. I can't say everyone there is bad, every place has the rotten eggs. I mean the site is very good at connecting people, not always the best thing, but chatting with friends and family isn't a bad effect.
(I assume that when you say talking with people in private you are referring to actually video communication rather than comments.)

Yeah... I talked with the person and I overreacted... He seems like a nice person and it was his first contest.  (Plus he didn't seem to be intentionally making a joke out of depression and stuff so that was the biggest part...)

Yeah, I completely understand why a contest like this would be more focused towards art. I mean it is called deviantART, but what a lot of people don't remember is that the definition of art included writing. In hindsight, this wasn't the worst wording I've found. I was just doing this one at the time so I mentioned it to them. I mentioned the same thing to another one and the result wasn't glowing... The end response was 'Good Luck' although I think that was more towards my insistence to include violence into my submission, if I make it!
