I listened to the song more fully a second time and realised how amazing it is. And now I come back to this and see all the flowy particle detail throughout the image and start to love it that much more. The composition's really striking too. Shadowy colour explosions. ~
I think I prefer her with clothes added, not only is the texture and movement of them great, but I don't quite know how you'd balance all that BG-red otherwise. x3

*__* Look into your heart, you know it to be true... why else would he use a Spanish guitar with this rhythm, in a YUUKA theme? *fangirls Pizuya* I like how varied his arranges can be, some of them are remarkably creative and I never know what to expect. Also the lyrics tend to be pretty interesting from what I have seen.
...I just wish he would get Sugino more often ;_____; I am having no luck finding more of her vocals or anything by her other groups. SOPHIA is great though!!!

I'm just starting to get into Pizuya's albums more. I've only listened to Merciless Lazuli Rose, by far my favourite, and Violet Lotus Requiem so far. I love SOPHIA! Sugino has this really airy delicate softness to her voice ... I've only heard two tracks by her in Violet Lotus. She's interesting. Of course I'm horribly biased to Merami-dearest though. <3
Btw have you found a copy of Worldly Flower somewhere, or are you making do with the Youtube? I've had little luck with the former.

SOPHIA is brilliant, she also has the best English accent I've heard. I tried to find Sugino, I found that she has been in a couple of metal bands, Siegfried and Inspire. Inspire's album is called "Alive", I tried googling that. HAHA. [link]
Protip for bands, make your album and band name googleable, for Youkrist's sake... I dont know if these bands are really SO obscure, or if I'm not looking in teh right places. I'll probably have to sign up to NicoNico or look on some other site to find them. I did however find this video [link]
I think her normal singing style is not as delicate as the one used with Pizuya, but you can kinda tell that by how her tone shifts. Her voice strikes me as really complex, it feels so... interesting to me like savoring a complexly flavored gourmet dish... Unfortunately this is the only vid of Siegfried I could find on YT and the sound quality is pretty bad, so there you go. I had to google ζδΉγwith various other terms to find this info... there's another vid of a bunch of metal band people/vocalists singing a support song for Japan after the earthquake, and she is one of the vocalists there. But in that vid I couldn't tell which one was her voice.
I like Merami but I like her a lot more in rock based songs, when she sounds too moe it's just too moe for me

......I did this with Tres once too........but it was with her idea for a story about her Yuyuko evening dress pic. I wrote the story and it was exactly how she thought it would go....except for on tiny part O_O

I feel like I fail at coloring, though. XD I think the problem is when I paint I go into some weird mental state that is fairly impulsive, so I feel it isn't always thought out and so I can't analyze it. That's always how it turned out when i was doing oil painting, things got really abstract when a lot of color was involved, but linework is more painstaking. But both result in an altered mental state somehow. I drew and painted this in like 3 hours or something so it was just impulsive and I don't know. O_O I'm glad it works for you.

Yuuka is awesome, and these colours came out really nice Gotta love the textures you can do with SAI. Was the pocket-watch a canon thing?

I like the oil water brush, you can make nice b/g textures using that, and the blur and blend tools... I also use marker tool a lot.
I don't think the pocketwatch is canon, but I just think it looks good with her outfit so it occurred to me for some mysterious reason

I've so far used different brushes and markers, I think. Just messed with the brush settings. I'm not really sure what all the other things do. Like the oil water brush and water.
She's almost like a gentleman with it.

I made a couple of custom brushes too, using ink pen as a base. I want to mess with those settings more and make some different ones... the thing about oil water and marker is that they blend or pick up existing colors too, so depending which ones you use on top or on different layers, with transparency and stuff, you can get interesting effects. I think I had 5 layers on this including the base scan, because I use multiply mode over the sketch, and I have to switch to normal mode to make things opaque on the top layers.
I think of her like someone who is very refined and has fine old fashioned objects cos she comes from a different time... yeah XD

yeah, you can save custom ones... I forget b/c it's been a while since I saved them. I'll have to google it again. x_x
I wish I could paint on fewer levels, but I always like to use a lot of blending and transparency. so I tend to have more.

I normally decide what kind of details I want before I start colouring or working on them. Though normally if there's a mistake I notice half way through it, I always end up redrawing a some part of it and it doesn't really matter how many layers I have then. I just make back-ups of my main colour or lineart layer to make sure I can always go back in case I make something worse.

Oh, part of my issue sometimes is that I do impulsive paintings and I'm not sure of exactly how I'll end up with the feeling that I'm aiming for... if that makes sense. Which was the case with this one, although really it had less coloring layers than usual for a really colorful thing like this. Being very impulsive/inspired also keeps the layers down.
I have a custom called 'soft pen' that was like the ink pen but had a little more... softness or blending to it, and another one called 'handbrush' that has a little rough edge but not as much as the blending tool or acrylic, for my own purposes. You can name them and save as many available tool slots are on that bar.
