Description
Captain Rikers starship, the USS Titan, a modern science vessel of the Luna class, together with an Rapier class escort ship.
The Luna-class was a Federation reconnaissance science vessel in service to Starfleet since the late 24th century. The Luna-class ships were the top of the line in Starfleet's scientific and exploratory pursuits on behalf of the United Federation of Planets. Each had an average crew of the 350 individuals and was approximately 450 meters long. Starfleet designed the Luna-class to accommodate the most diverse crew in the galaxy.
The USS Titan (NCC-80102) was launched in the year 2379 under the command of Captain William T. Riker. The Titan, like the other ships in the Luna class, was named for a moon in the Sol system, Titan. Riker commanded the Titan for 6 years until he was promoted to Admiral in 2385 and his former first Officer Commander Christine Vale got the command. After Rikers promotion he retained the Titan as his personal flagship. Upon his assignment as Sector Commander of the Alpha Quadrant frontier zone, he made Titan the sector command's mobile base of operations in 2386.

Love the small ship. Any chance of seeing it in closer detail?

I really need to find and read these books.
I was always curious about them as a kid but never actually looked into them.
Beautiful work on the render, love the lighting.

Unfortuately the first Titan Book were Riker gets the command and try to negotiate between the different romulan groups after Shinzon leave a power vacuum is a terrible written book. But the following got better. Especially the Crossover books were Titan joined the Destiny Novels.

Is that a observation deck on the lower hull?

Either that, or the aquatic section. The Titan had one of the most diverse crews in fleet historyβfewer than 15% of the Titan crewmembers were Human.

looks a lot like a 24th century version of the Aries classΒ

Its because the Ares class based alot on the Akira class, and the Luna class here is the design successor of the Akira.

This is hands down the best Trek ship ever designed. The fact that it was originally made by a fan makes it even better and it isn't some supership like the Sovereign or the horrendously designed Enterprise-J. It combines aspects of the Sovereign, Akira and even the Reliant into a ship designed to get Starfleet back to the ideals of being explorers while embodying the lessons it learned throughout the Dominion War.
The Eaglemoss model for it is also superb.

I'm just hoping that part of the "big disaster" mentioned in the Trailer for Star Trek: Picard doesn't name drop the Enterprise and/or Titan as having been lost during the rescue mission to Romulus.Β

The way CBS has mishandled everything else, don't be surprised if they write them both out as the reason Picard left Starfleet.

Me too. Star Trek should do more in future, not prequel after prequel. Not sure about the new Picard series. I think they waited too long with it. Patrick Steward reached a age where you can no longer be sure that he will reach the end of the season. Hope we will get at least some cameos from Riker and co.

I've heard about this new series with him in it, but nothing outside of any comments about how good or bad is it, so I have forgotten about even trying to check it out.
