Wow, I remember hating those types of assignments as well. I somewhat shamefully did something like this in high school based on Stephen Gammell's work. Despite it being kind of fun to put together it was completely meaningless. So then my teacher decided to present it in the scholastic art show... Thought it best represented my work... He thought it was "clever"... Ugh...
But you're right, THIS turned out extremely well. For something that I imagine to be relatively small it carries an incredible sense of space and depth. I've been a Beksinski fan for many years now and I have to say that this is a wonderful homage to Zdzislaw. I'd like to hear more about how this came about sometime.

Thank you. I really tried to emphasize perspective and depth with this peice and im happy with the way it came out dispite the assignment. I'd be happy to show it to you sometime, it's in the Hilton Art show at the moment, but in a few weeks I'll get it back. I'm sure it'll end up in Danny's room eventually among the many fishtanks...hopefully not in one....
