Kind || Positive || This farm boy grew up in a poor but loving family who shared everything they had. He learned about humanity long before ever coming across greed. In some respects, people might say he's sheltered or naive, and while he might be taken advantage of at times, it's not because of his own short-sightedness but his general goodwill for others.

Honest || Positive || Benji grew up in a rather secluded area where everyone knew everyone. There was no point in lying to anyone because if someone knew the truth, his mom would learn about it eventually. And he learned quickly that punishment for lying is much worse than for whatever dumb thing he did in the first place. Not only that, but who likes being lied to? Benji lives by the golden rule and hopes everyone else will take time to honor it too.

Trusting || Neutral || Since he lived in such a little town, he knew he had nothing to fear when it came to getting to know other people. Everyone there treated everyone with kindness and respect, so he was blissfully unaware that there are people out there who DON'T live that way. It wasn't until he made his first trip into Imperial City that he found out his trusting nature could end up getting him into trouble.

Affectionate || Neutral || Being a dog-like Pokemon, it's not surprising that he's very extroverted and affectionate. At times, his clinginess can be a bit of a problem (especially those who like their space) and he's trying to learn not to get too attached but he still has his moments where he forgets his boundaries.

Dim-witted || Negative || Welp, being a farmer, there isn't too much he needs to know. Sure, he knows plenty of things related to farming, but as a whole? He's not very educated. In fact, it's really easy to take advantage of him since he's a sincere guy and falls for the simplest of tricks.

Gullible || Negative || This goes along with his dim-wittedness; he falls for just about anything simply because he doesn't really know any better and trusts people without much rhyme or reason other than he has no reason not to? Maybe it wasn't the best move for him to move into the city, but he fell in love with the atmosphere and doesn't want to return to his home if he doesn't have to.

HISTORY

Born and raised in the country-side, Benji's story is a fairly simple one. His folks had a big family and they all helped tend crops. Winters were the worst; he even lost a few siblings to the cold and illness throughout the years; it was rough but at least they all had each other to lean on. Benji was the oldest son so it was his duty to make sure everyone was safe and taken care of alongside his parents. He didn't mind this in the slightest; one might even say it made him rather childish since he learned how to take care of kids pretty well. He wouldn't say that's a bad thing though. At least he's not a stickler and knows how to have fun, unlike some people!

The first two decades of his life were dedicated to his home and family, but the older he got, the more anxious his parents grew that he'd never get to be his own person. They loved their son and were grateful for his help, but they also wanted him to be happy. And being a family man, it was obvious he would have to start his own family someday. Not wanting to hinder their son's future anymore, they gave him some money and encouraged him to go out and find his passion, and if he ever decided he wanted to come back, they'd welcome him back with open arms.

At the age of 21, he finally made his way to Imperial City. He'd been several times before when helping his dad sell crops, but this was his first time on his own with the intent to sightsee. It didn't take long for him to fall in love with the lifestyle. Being used to hard work, he found a job as a carpenter rather quickly and has been working at the company ever since. He also works as a bodyguard-for-hire, but those jobs are few and far between. He hopes to one day travel the country, but for now, he's pretty content with what little he has.
