Description "Nnnnngh!" the Pipistrelle screamed in terror, the nauseating ether filling her lungs, overwhelming her senses. Her eyes wide with shock and fear she reached up with both hands and tried to pry the hand holding the cloth from her face, but to no avail. The knee pushed hard into her back as the hands simultaneously pulled her back and off balance while pushing her down hard onto her knees.

"You're probably wondering why, aren't you, Pipistrelle? Because I can. All these wealthy, entitled women with money they didn't earn. Single, alone, vulnerable. Always coming into my shop for their tincture of opium to dull the "pain" of their boring lives. Having everything, wanting for nothing, and still not happy; not satisfied. Not WORTHY," she sneered.

The Pipistrelle mewled softly into the ether gag, snaking her body and twisting her head, pulling with all her might trying to dislodge the anesthetic pad while simultaneously trying not to breathe; an impossible feat. She inhaled more of the drug.

"All of these foreign dignitaries and wealthy men coming in for their own opiates, always pawing at me as if I was the product for sale and not their filthy drugs. Then it occurred to me that I had a perfect commodity and the buyers for it as my customers already," Vanish laughed.

"Mmmmnph!" the Pipistrelle moaned again, still fighting hard, Ms. Goodnite's monologue the last thing on her panicked mind.

Eyes are of course very good. There are some GIMP tricks you might have used to make the picture seem deeper and not quite as flat, but the idea is compelling and the overall composition is very dramatic.

Yes I really loved the eyes in this one, too. And GIMP tricks is what I'm trying to learn!

The trick I had in mind is to increase the sense of ambienet occlusion where the pad is on the face and where the hands are holding the pad. What you do is take the brush tool and set it to "darken" instead of "normal" You set the color to black (which I think it is by default) and the per cent change to about 3-5%. Then paint along the edge of the pad and the hand holding it, darkening the area which gives the sense of a shadow at the occlusion point between the object and face and hand and object. If you are having trouble visualizing what I mean, perhaps I can send you a before and after example and/or a screen cap of what I mean.

No, I think I understand. When I have time I will have to go back and take one of the pics and tinker with it.
