My only complaint about this episode was that, by five minutes in, I knew it was going to be hard to properly capture it in a single image. It was so all over the place, there were so many call backs and cameos. How does one sum up such an ensemble cacophony of fun? More than anything, I was excited for the characters that finally got speaking roles and some screentime. It was great to have them be characters, recognized as a part of the world that we've come to love. Does that mean it was... canon? I guess? It was all so goofy and fun, I feel like you can take it or you can leave it. I think the personalities and the performances, however, were all fantastic.I heard there was a bunch of back and forth about pandering, with the promos coming out over the past two weeks. I loved this episode. I watched it twice in a row, and I want to watch it again. Pure, simple fun.

Was it me or do those three flower ponies freak out over everything? I mean for crying out they even fainted when they saw one of the stems of the flowers broke and went "the horror! the horror!" for crying out loud!

I swear though everytime Lyra and Bon Bon (aka Agent Sweetie Drops) mentioned how they were Best Friends or how they enjoy each other's company I could almost sense quotation marks around it. Like it was a subtle hint to the ship between them without actually saying it

Honestly, this ep was just fun with some insane refs, funs gags an etc. But course to some people each ep needs to have a message, it needs to be "deep" an etc. So, course for 'em if an ep isn't met to their standards it "Oh! You are just pandering to the fanboys! Here we thought you had respect for yourself." An ya know, I ain't gonna say how they are ungrateful or anything, but bloody hell get off your high horse.

It was wall to wall fanservice, but that was the point. It was just one giant love letter to the fans.
Guess your enjoyment of the episode boiled down to how much you liked that aspect.
Personally, I loved it. Favorite episode of the season so far and in my Top 15 overall episodes. I absolutely loved how all the characters were and how each of the Background 6 kind of got a scene to themselves. I especially loved how Derpy and the Doctor were. Their parts were my favorite (second would have to be Celestia and Luna sniping at each other over forgetting the gift).
I was rolling in hysterics throughout, especially the sheer crackiness of having the Doctor have to go bowling with the Dude. Never thought I'd see a "Doctor Who/Big Lebowski" crossover that was (borderline) official.

Nothing wrong with pandering, especially in an episode written as a "thank you" to the fans. It was insanely awesome, I loved it. The only things that irked me were the facts that Lyra and Bon Bon kept insisting they're just "best friends" while touching each other and giving each other bedroom eyes and that Derpy was credited as "Muffins". I know Hasbro's afraid of soccer moms and SJWs, but come on! They were doing everything they could to confirm the LyraBon relationship without outright saying it out loud, and they'd already mentioned Derpy's name in the show before! I wish they'd grow some balls, who cares about those haters anyway? If something is already as obvious as can be, they might as well admit it.
Anyway, I loved absolutely everything else in the episode. Doctor Hooves and Derpy, Steven Magnet, the Flower trio, The Dude, Secret Agent Sweetie Drops, Octavia and Vinyl's duet, Gummy's deep thinking, the bugbear and the lone Changeling at the wedding was all perfect. Also, the references. Especially "I cooked them up and ate them!" had me ROTFLOL.
10/10. I couldn't have asked for a better 100th episode. Thanks M.A. Larson, I really mean it!

That they mentioned Derpy as "Muffins" in the credits is the only thing that bothers me too. Especially since Amy Keating Rogers literally got only 10 complaint mails about Derpy, while she got 200 positive ones, after "The Last Roundup" aired.
But I'm confident. I'm very, very confident. Derpy reclaimed her speaking roles now, she will reclaim her name too. It's only a matter of time and she's just doing small steps to take back what the soccer moms have stolen her.
She's going at you, soccer moms, slowly, but steady.
