Description In general, I think this episode was pretty fun. I thought the CMC were still pretty cute, and not as annoying as they sometimes are in their group episodes. I usually find that an episode that focuses on one of the three is better than a group episode. In any case, our gigantic Eeyore of a character was entertaining as well, both in his dialogue and in his action. And while all this was fun, I would not call it a great episode.

The message was actually a fairly subtle ones. Surrounded regularly by art students, I see many questions of, and many different answers to, what is art and how does one employ it. Some people want to be animators, others illustrators, others still environment artists. Assuming that something can only mean one thing is too narrow, and removes so much possibility from life. I think that's something of value. The episode, however, kind of wound its way through different elements, only kind of finding its message at the end. It's a good message, but compared to last week, I think it lacked the same direction and intention.

It was aight. The moral of the episode certainly wasn't bad. It's good to teach the kids that they can't wander off to search for dangerous criminals in the middle of the night without telling anyone and that they should listen to their parents or other guardians. I just hope the kids understood that all that led to good results because it's a cartoon and that it would never go like that in real life.

It was good to see Braeburn again and even better to hear him talk for the first time in ages. Too bad he was so useless in the episode, but I suppose that if he had stayed awake while watching the CMC, the episode would have ended there.

Trouble Shoes was a very entertaining character. Not only was he enormous in size, but his personality was cool too. Everyone compares him to Eeyore and I can see why. Also, he was apparently the only pony in the show so far to have misunderstood the meaning of his Cutie Mark. That's fitting, considering the theme of the season. I think it was hilarious (although I can understand if many people disagree) how the CMC were able to figure out his real talent in a flash even though they're still clueless about their own talents after all this time. I guess I like ironic humor like that. It seems the Crusaders really can help everypony with Cutie Mark troubles except for themselves.

I love all the new background ponies this season. I still remember how everypony in Appleloosa were simply Ponyvillians with hats in season one. Good thing that's no longer the case.

My final judgement: 8/10. Not bad, but not perfect either.

There were still cases like the Dr. Whooves In a tophat with Caramal's cutie mark though. I guess that fad's not COMPLETELY dead yet.

Perfect would mean it had no flaws at all. It wasn't perfect, but I liked it and it was definitely better than an average 5/10.
