I created this necklace for the August 2009 Etsy Beadweavers Challenge. The theme is 'First Ladies of Style' My inspiration was Aphrodite, greek goddess of love and beauty".SEARCH EBW Team and EBWC for other unique beautiful beaded creations.

o.0 I never thought of using herringbone to make a bezel! It's beautiful! I didn't know you were in the Etsy beadweavers! I wanted to join them but their rules are so strict... must have at least so many beadwoven items in your shop, must have them in feature all the time, etc etc. I don't like rules.
I found the Copper Wire Jewelers instead and I'm happy.

hahaha I was indeed not only member also a mod for a while, gave that up cause people would get offended with every tiny issue. then after years i again tried to organise a large springswap within the team and one of the gals hadn't read the info so when i told her about them she got pissed with me at that time i just figured i wasn't appreciated and left to find my own path, take a break etc.
I miss the girls sometimes but its nicer to do my own thing now and find my own inspiration. it can be overwhelming to see that much art. you just loose your own creativity (well i did) EBW is a fantastic group, but they became larger and larger so they have to have some rules...

This is really pretty. I love the negative space and weaving. You also put the components together well (different materials and techniques).

haha the herringbone stitch is actually very easy. what made it tough was gettng it to shape like this so i inserted a wire to shape it LOL
