Long time ago, agressive red colour was "for boys".
Calm blue colour was "for girls".
I don't know how agressive red turned into defiant pink and why it started to represent girls 
Maybe females became too calm and males became too agressive
...Well, now pink colour helps most of women to defy men, and blue colour keeps most of men away from killing women
