Yep, I agree with that one: they could have paid more attention to Shepard and the remains of Sovereign.
Thank you!

Heehee! This is awesome. Oh, Kaidan, why do you have to be so sexy? I swoon at your sultry voice.

ME ENCANTA!

I had that same feeling, believe me. I think that's the reason I jumped in my seat when Anderson punched Udina -a little revenge time for my Shepard, after the ambassador back-stab.
Hey, no problem! I appreciate that you comment, no matter when you do it! Take care and send my regards to Alexis!

I think my biggest problem with Kaiden is he's Carth Onasi from KotoR. Right down to his overblown over-reacting on Horizon. It felt like Bioware looked at the female LI and said, "Well... Carth was okay, and we have the same VA, sooo... let's make him Carth."
He's someone with trust and betrayal issues, who leaps to conclusions, with a history of violence. Kaiden always struck me as the creepy stalker type, and his reaction on Horizon (where any sane person who claimed to have a deep love for someone would be overjoyed) only reinforced that. Garrus is happy to see Shepard. Liara is happy to see Shepard. Tali is happy to see Shepard, and it's really crap circumstances. Kaiden just watched her bust her ass to try and save the colony he failed to protect, this woman he claims to love... and instantly goes into full on betrayed stalker mode, even if you have Garrus with you (who should have stepped up and decked Kaiden). Terrible *terrible* writing for his character.
It got to the point that on each subsequent playthrough Kaiden goes down in flames on Virmire, because Ashley's xenophobia is easier to stomach that Kaiden's faux romantic interest and poor writing.

I recently read an article stating this same thing. For me it was the other way around, as I played KOTOR after ME1&2. I didn't have a lot of love left for Kaidan in that time and hearing the same voice in the shape of (rather bipolar) Carth was not the best experience. I've had the feeling that Bioware tend to look at the female LI and say: "anything will work: a Biotic alien chic who everyone will love, another Biotic guy how has all his feelings undercontrol, a dying assassin, an unfaithful guy and the demanded turian LI, scarred and unsure of his actions". I feel a little out as female player, but that's another discussion.
I still want to think that Kaidan at Horizon had a bad (bad bad) writer, but after two years thinking that your loved one had died (and you had left her there) and all of the sudden she re-appears... Initially they hug but as soon as Shepard opens her mouth, hell seems to break loose. Oh, I had Garrus in my team, and his intervention was... like nothing? I understand (now, after A LOT of thinking) that he could have feel left out from a bigger picture (maybe Shepard infiltrating Cerberus to attack from the inside?) and who knows which kind of info TIM has leaked: he himself says he had been spreading rumors and Kaidan mentions the Alliance had reports. What kind of irks me is why Kaidan was not taken by the Collectors and where he was during the fight: did he saw Shepard and team fighting? If so, why he didn't fight along? If he was in stasis and was free at that moment, why we don't see other colonists approaching? Bad writing again?
I understand you motivations to Virmire Kaidan, but as I find hard to stand Ash, so I tend to do the other way around... However, that's kind of the 'good' part of the game: you don't have to really like all the characters: you can let them die or get rid of them in different ways.

Ok, I'm back from fan-girling out. Basically, this is freaking amazing. It's good to see what Shapard and Kaidan once were to each-other, it makes Horizon and Alchera have more weight, and it makes Shepard's reaction to it all make a lot more sense. It's good to be reminded that Shepard has a life before, one that's gone now, as she moves forward with her new life with new goals and new priorities. It's also interesting to see that this memory is coming back now, so I'm excited to see where you plan to go with it. Keep it up! I can't wait to see more!

Well, thank you so much for mentioning it! I think I mentioned this early, but I want to start working on the storyboard of a little Shenko story and show more what they were to each other and how they both have changed from that time to the current story line.
You'll see where this takes in the next page, which I hope to post next week (?) I hope you like it ;D
