I do the same thing! I'm working on a "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More 'Touch Me'" one right now (that's a Fall Out Boy song in case you didn't know) and a Legion of the Black one, too. Though the BVB one is quite a departure from just what the movie or album states about the world. I had to expand so much that I don't even know whether it could be called a fanfic now or not. But it makes me so uncomfortable to see Ashley and Andy or Ray, Mikey and Frank talking about slash stuff and makes me feel bad for even just reading it that I want to do something that they'd like to see and read. You know, something that they'd think is pretty cool (hopefully).

Top Trumps is a card game that was big a few years ago. Basically, my sister bought me a pack of them which had loads of facts about things from Egypt. I'd never played it before, but I kept winning due to the fact that I always got 'the Nile' card; it has the biggest points of them all! 
I think it popped up in conversation that day so I drew it in.
