Description
After "Next Stop: Earth" here is another image that I created using my photos from my two-day trip to London in summer.
What you can see is the (mirrored) view onto the Thames river from the Tower Bridge. The London cityscape around the river has become quite futuristic in the past years, with "The Shard" dominating the skyline from all directions. In 2012 it used to be the highest building in Europe.
In this image I reimagined the architecture of The Shard as a part of some sort of stargate that serves as the future Gatwick airport. Of course for this sort of transportation one has to build particularly robust vehicles which actually survive the trip. The city will be covered in smog for days after each departure. Luckily it doesn't happen that often since it is still so damn expensive!
