Chapter 4 – A Hidden Power

Clive takes hostage Erika in the control room. She's closed in a big glass pillar.
"Erika : Release me! And why did you say I'm an important key man for your plan? I don't know what is special on me!
- Clive : Haven't you guess? Which object do I want and only you have it?
- Erika : … !! My… My necklace?
- Clive : Exactly.
- Erika : But I don't know what is special on it. And it was you who offer me when we are younger. You didn't know its story, did you?
- Clive : You're right. After becoming a reporter, I did researches about your necklace. And I discovered something which would help me for my plan.
- Erika : I don't want to ask this but what is it power?
- Clive : It can triple the power of any person or object.
- Erika : If I understand… if I know fighting and if my blows are powerful… is it because of this stone? So…
- Clive : I see you understood, Your stone will help me to increase the power of the mobile fortress.
- Erika : And why didn't you just take the necklace? Why did you lock me?
- Clive : The stone can work only if a person wears it. It drains the strength of this person, and like I need my strength to operate the controls, I need you.

- Clive : You haven't choice anyway, sis'.

Clive operates his infernal machine in order to many cables hooked on the underground city's roof to form a big hole in London and so that the mobile fortress can enter in this town to destroy all. When the machine is in the real London, Clive operates a lever and the glass pillar, where Erika is locked, begins to shine with Erika's necklace. Suddenly, a blinding light appears on the necklace and it brings about the waste of Erika's strength. She screams, so she suffers enormously. Our friends, Layton, Luke and Flora, see the disaster in London.
" Luke : Now what do we do ?!
- Layton : This is… utter madness.
- Clive : Hahahahaha! Please, make yourselves comfortable. Sit back and relax. After all, you won't be leaving anytime soon. Take a good look at London, because this will be your last chance.
- Erika : KYAAAAAA!!!!!
- Luke : Professor, do you hear this ?
- Layton : Yes! Bu what is he doing with her?
- Luke : I don't know but we have to save her quickly!"
Someone opens the door, thinking it was the subordinates of Clive, but in fact, it was Celeste.
" Céleste : Come with me! I know how we can stop Clive!
Whereas Celeste explains her plan to stop the generator, the fortress always follows its way destroying London, provoking the tiredness of Erika who can't stay up. And Erika had an idea to get out of this glass pillar thanks to her necklace, which has a pointed tip : so she decides to create a hole on the glass by cracking, even if Clive is concentrated on his plan and he doesn't do attention of her.
Layton, Luke, Flora and Celeste are on the generator room and discovered that the prime minister is on the generator. And Clive succeeds to speak them thanks to a camera.
" Clive : Hahahaha! I knew you'd find your way here sooner or later. Though, if you're hoping to find our fearless leader, I'm afraid he's indisposed at the moment. I know how you like to play the hero, but I'd advise you not to get any foolish ideas. You see, the prime minister is perched on a very special seat. And should you try to move him from that pod, this whole fortress will detonate. Also, you should know that there's enough charge in here to level most of London. Of course, London's getting leveled either way. Now, I do hate to run, but I have work t… *glass which breaks* What's th…?
- Erika *on the floor on the fragments of the glass pillar* : *breathe* C… Clive… Stop this… right now…
- Luke : It's Erika!
- Clive : How did you do to get out of here?
- Erika : Thanks… to you… and to your necklace…
- Clive : No matter, you can do anything anyway."
Erika tries to stand up and does her best to run to Clive in order to try to stop him.
" Erika : I can't let you do that…!
- Clive : Go away!"
Clive rejects Erika who is on the floor now, but she hasn't quite strength to stand up. The professor, Luke, Flora and Celeste will they succeed to save London?
