Description This is a participation for Rebecca Kimmels's Open Figure Drawing Workshop. I have spent weeks for this piece, I guess it is my longest work I have ever done. I feel proud of myself manage to finish this piece.

Edited: Hi everyone, thanks for dropping by. I didnt expect this to be featured. It is a master copy of William Bouguereau's painting but it is not traced. While, I did learn alot from this painting. U might when to check out Rebecca Kimmels's Open Figure Drawing Workshop. [link] My WIPs could be found here. [link] . I learn a lot from there. I'll produce some original painting next time, so watch out

Looks more like Gustave DorΓ©'s illustrations of The Divine Comedy, specifically Count Ugolino.

are you high? It is nearly an exact duplicate. I had my doubts he/she didn't just filter the original.

Is there a story to this image? As in what it's depicting, not the story of how you made it. I'd love to hear it if there is...

the sketch looks modern. You should do all paintings from the past that have lost the details, such as the last supper

I-is that Dante and Virgil in the background?

This really does appear that you put a ton of work into this. There should be no doubt otherwise. I like the touches of green shading from the red lighting (at least I would imagine so). That's a great detail. Also, I like how you didn't just leave the picture at the two men fighting, two men observing, and the demon. The people in the background really give this a sense of Hell to the fullest.

The way the two observing men (the ones I suspect to be Dante and Virgil) are dulled out to be in the background comes across well, but you still draw attention to them by backlighting them with the red sky. I really like how that turned out. The other men's expressions are just pure and simple rage and pain. Having them in full light really causes the eye to focus in on them, but that's really really obvious, now, isn't it?

You obviously have alot of knowledge when it comes to anatomy. Well more than myself, but is the biting man's neck a little long? It appears to me that way, but it could just be the drawn back shoulder. That aside, the muscle structures and just generally how each expression, pose, and detail (especially in Virgil's clothing) really impress me. Good luck in the workshop, if you're still in it.

This is so amazingly well done. The composition, the colors, the figures - but above all, the imagery. It is so rare to find pieces that actually convey a sense of sheer terror, horror, and disgust, but this piece is swollen with those darker themes. The people you chose, their faces, their clothes, the design of the monstrous beasts in the background; it's all so very classical. This is a truly unique digital work, you have every right to be proud of this. Congrats on the DD, you really deserve it.
