Description Maybe I'm being a little harsh on this episode, maybe I'm not.

But this is one of the WORST episodes of this show. As for worst though, it's not any worse than what SpongeBob Sqaurepants and Family Guy have gotten.

The main plot of this episode, ugh... Homer gets terminated from his job and can't seem to get another one, so he decides to waste his own fucking life, including sappy music, pretty much any attempt to force you to cry, much like in some endings of games I've played such as Ocarina of Time or even Disney movies in general (I'm dead serious, about 75% of the ones Walt Disney made had a depressing part). The rest of the family catches up to him and tells him not to do it. Homer then goes to become a naggy bastard about safety, leading up to Mr. Burns rehiring Homer, but putting him on safety inspector.

I really hated how Chief Wiggum and Mr. Burns sounded like in this episode, and I was kind of shocked to see that Smithers was incorrectly colored.

There were some highlights in the episode like Bart prank calling poor Moe, but for the most part it's just kind of boring. Pretty much a major mistake in the early days of The Simpsons.

A lot of people liked this episode, and I honestly doubt the one moment with Homer going through depression was played for laughs when it comes to suicide and money troubles, it gets the plot moving when Homer saves his family and becomes a hero after realizing there wasn't a stop sign nearby the bridge. But aren't you taking this episode too seriously? It's not offensive or anything that unwatchable.

It's my least favorite of the season.

Well, there's an excuse. This is a very early Simpsons episode, where the characters could still be in development.

Personally, this episode didn't bother me too much, one downside I find in this episode is the animation where Marge speaks to Homer "How could you think of killing yourself?" really got out of sync. This is pretty much one of the first earlier Simpsons episodes I've watched on TV.

Kind of true - though keep this in mind: Most of the worst Simpsons Episodes won't hold a candle to anything bad Family Guy or bad Spongebob.

Not even The Boys of Bummer, Regarding Margie, and Lisa Goes Gaga?

Those are MUCH MUCH MUCH worse. I'm referring to the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons here.

This is actually one of my favorite episodes.

Yes, Homer is nearly driven to suicide, but:

1. It's not played for laughs.
2. It actually gets the plot moving.

I can see why you'd hate this episode, but I don't. But I'll respect your opinion.

And yes, the animation is sucky in this episode (like the floatings heads; BTW Black Smithers was on purpose, but they changed it later), but still...

I don't find it bad. Sorry.

Technically even the worst Simpsons episodes like Kill the Alligator and Run and Saddlesore Galactica are NO where as bad as Family Guy and SpongeBob Squarepants' biggest failures. Really now, I can handle the worst Simpsons episodes and they may be awful but at least they still have okay moments in there.
