how did you make this

I used Delica seed beads and increasing and decreasing hexagonal peyote stitch. It's hollow inside.

where did you get the actual cell phone charm bit? did you get it at a story or did you pull it off of a current cell phone charm?

I ordered it. I get most of my beads from Fire Mountain Gems, and they've got the findings as well.

Your welcome!
Thanks for telling me what peyote stitch you used. I'd love to make one like, just got to find a 'decreasing/increasing' peyote stitch... lol

The Mario games are so creative, and I would have never thought of making a mushroom. I could try out an ice/fire flower.

As much as I love Mario games, none of them in the games have looked this GOOD!
Lol, it's the 1up mushroom - I want one! Haha, it would look really cool on my backpack.
What type of stitch did you use, a peyote one? If so, could you give me a link or some website where I can learn a peyote stitch? Thankies.
One more thing, do you mind if I try something like this out, but mine will be red? I'm won't post it on here, I'll make just for fun.
A Gomba or Koopa out of beads would be cool too. Keep it up!

Thank you so much for all your kind words!

I do use peyote stitch, but it's an increasing/decreasing variation. I don't know a website but all of the techniques I use I learned from Julia S. Pretl's book Little Bead Boxes.

And I'd love to see the results if you tried anything!

wow i had this same idea earlier this month but decided to make a hello kitty i do all my work with just beads and string. but this is cool is it hallow ?

EraserRain27 In reply to oOoKANDIoOo [2010-10-23 04:47:52 +0000 UTC]

Yes, completely hollow. It's also just beads (size 11/0 Delicas) and Fireline, which is a kind of beading thread.

how many beads do you think you used ?

EraserRain27 In reply to oOoKANDIoOo [2010-10-23 05:05:04 +0000 UTC]

Not sure. And to be honest, I really don't want to count. Not that it's a lot, it's just that they're tiny and it's annoying.

Sorry, but the only part I have an actual "pattern" for is the top, and it's not on my computer.

And by that you mean shiny green beads, right? I don't speak beading, so I'm going to assume.

This is amazing! I really want to start trying out seed beading 3d if it's not too much imposing what sort of wire/string to do use to keep the form?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EraserRain27 In reply to Eviecats [2010-10-16 19:52:27 +0000 UTC]

I use either 4 lb or 6 lb test Fireline--it's essentially fishing line, although the lighter weights (4 lb, 2 lb and 1 lb) are harder to find in sporting goods stores in my experience.

It's nice because it holds together well, is strong, really rigid and doesn't fray

Eviecats In reply to EraserRain27 [2010-10-16 20:11:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that's what I use for my braclettes too, I have made some beading projects with memory wire as well but it's just so darned hard to shape I can imagine it would be maddening on a small scale like this lol. Thanks for the info have a great weekend friend
