Description *title fail** lol

Here's my half of a trade with ! When I saw she had trades open, I couldn't resist, and I so rarely have time to do trades that I really REALLY couldn't resist!

I chose to draw Kanna because she is really gorgeous, and she hasn't been drawn much, so I wanted a nice challenge! I really hope I got her markings right, especially her spots! She was such a ball to draw too, I loved working on her! I redid the background several times, I just couldn't find the right one, but I think this one fits quite nicely for her, its calming and makes me wish I was there right now!

Thank you again hun for trading with me! I hope I'll have some free time to draw one of your characters again!

Wow. When I saw this as the thumbnail in my inbox, I would have never guessed that the pattern would be this unique! There is so much detail, not only in the horse but in the entire picture. The horse really stands out, too, because of how the colors look against the background. The pose is really cute, and so is the expression. She looks like she is gazing at her reflection. You're right about the fact that the background is peaceful, and that this mare is really gorgeous! I would love to draw her, just to have some fun.

Amazing job, Dana. I love love love this piece! I can't wait to see more more more art!

Wonderful work <3 I really like the sky (those clouds...) and the detailing you put in the mane and tail, the little lines make it even more alive

Few words of critisism - her legs are a bit too long, except the one which is crouched up; it actually looks a bit too short. I think you could've drawn the grass a bit more upwards and put more detailing on the grass in front, because now the long lines going right look like the grass is in wind but then again her mane and tail are not showing it. Taking light into notion, since the sun is behind her, leaving highlights out of the body and legs might've been a good idea and just play around with darker (bluer) shades, to give the same effect. You should try out more different light sources, it gives a whole new depth to art
Argh it is hard to say critique without sounding like a bitch or just say "these things look WROOOOOONG to me: [long list of things]" D: I hope this helped a bit

Thanks for the crit Kalms! Hehe I see what you mean, its been a while since I drew so I'm not totally aware of my bad anatomy! And I know what you mean about the highlights, I originally had a different background and totally different scene planned, but I wasn't happy with it so I changed it, and I forgot about the lighting! I think I might edit this one, get some practice again! Thanks again hun!

I don't think your anatomy is bad! Don't say such things But I do get what you mean by being out of practice, one of the reasons why I try to keep drawing breaks to few days at the max, I get so out of touch it's horrible. Even with little practice you'll stay in shape! Even if it's just five minutes or so, it helps. Don't you forget that Dana!
At least you can do such purrdy backgrounds... I usually finish up the horse and then be like "LE FU-, I need a bg. I have no ideas. Oh gods help me..."
