Heydie-who again!!This is one that WAS gonna be entered for the contest, but I changed my mind on it. But I still love it a WHOLE lot. They all turned out much better than I thought they would. I used mostly prisma color pencils for it, but . . .
Can someone guess what the background stuff is?
And anyway, since the theme this year for the contest was 'Dreams and Nightmares' I considered something that might be suiting for Kenshin. He has a terrible past, has sad memories and probably wants to just forget it all. Most times he has nightmares in his sleep, but what if there were times when he had those warm fuzzy dreams with a little dragon friend? The kind we'd all have as kids. The kind that take all our cares away?
Well, this was sort of based off of that. But, the other ideas I have for the contest might actually work better - including the first piccie with Megumi dreaming she was the one being held in Kenshin's arms. (Quite an unusal hight difference though, ne? ^_~)

This is an oldie actually. Done several years ago. It was going to be an entry for the first contest I ever attempted when Hakubaiko was still alive. I don't think I ever entered this one though. Didn't get it done in time, but there were three others that I did do.

If you had entered it back then I'm sure it would have won because it was different. It seems everyone wanted to do a dark thing and this is surprisingly refreshing. I'm guilty of doing the dark thing but one artwork I did was sad. It has Kenshin dreaming of his little "family" (Sano, Kaoru, Yahiko and Megumi) with their names etched on the tombstones.
I love the artwork. So carefree and bright. I'm assuming that's your Suki playing with him?
The background looks like ripped up construction paper and scanned for this pic.
I would have liked if this picture was bigger to enjoy.

The background is actually spray paint with the image of Kenshin and Suki cut and pasted onto it. I may consider uploading a bigger image one day - or I can just send you a larger image. ^_^

When I read the Nightmare/ Daydream theme I have this one idea on my mind and came up with that. I have another one with the orangy-looking cover and a part of me wished I should have left it alone with no words on it. It would make the pic stronger. I could never do it anything right. For example, from last year's I thought I understood the theme but it seems I was so far off the track. I hate not understanding things. 
*wistfully* Except for one time I did it right when I drew Kenshin's long ago childhood memory and won an honorable mention. I was so happy during my darkest hour.
Okay on to your artwork. Wow...that's neat! I'll have to go and look at it again. Very original idea. If you don't mind sending me a larger image or I can wait until you upload a bigger pic here. Either way is fine with me. ^____^

When I saw the thumbnail for this picture, I thought that Kenshin developed some sort of Hiei's Jaou-Ensatsu-Kokuryuuha

Well that is an attack from YuuYuu Hakusho anime, one of the main characters has a kind of dragon painted on his right hand and can unleash it. This looked similar in the small thumbnail

I personally find the MegumixKenshin pairing more logical (and cuter) than KaoruxKenshin. The height difference is a cool thing though. Short people are awesome.
