I love how the feeling of this just intensifies as he moves on down the hall. To the point to where he starts running its like "OMG, Whats going to happen!

i guess if you wanna look into it further you could say the repeated music is speaking about something you do over and over again...like going to the laundromat or cleaning your clothes

the sock monster! poor guy, going through all that just for a sock. it reminded me very much of terry pratchetts sock monster in the book the hogfather. very good soundtrack.
