A very captivating piece, and not just because of the subject's outfit, either. The eyes really grab you in this one! Great shot!

Your lighting here is beautiful! It's even and gorgeous, and reminds me faintly of REALLY strong candlelight - which matches in well with the corset. Makes me thing of medieval times and castles and stuff.
The smoothness of the skin is gorgeous too - beautiful model of course, but you've done an awesome job capturing her.

the corset is beautiful, aswell as her eyes, and well just everything about his shot, and I love the fact that she is extremely beautiful without having to look like an ity-bity twig.

I like the light on the background - that was a good choice Softer, diffused light is generally better for this sort of thing - less harsh shadows, more flattering etc. Depending on the size of your lamps, even a sheet of paper can make a good diffuser. Also, I've found I can use a shiny baking sheet or tinfoil to reflect light, which will also make it less harsh. I can't tell where you had your lights; you may be on the right track - it certainly looks good, especially for a first attempt. In general for portraits you want a main light to one side and a fill light to the other (diagonal from the model, with the fill light farther back, more diffused, or a little dimmer), and also a light above and behind the head if possible to help seperate it from the background - that shouldn't be necessary if the tones are different enough, though.
Was this the first time :userLotusolove has done any modelling? The pose, expression, and makeup are all pretty good, but a key word is dynamic - as an art student I've heard that a lot, and teachers encourage movement or active compositions. This could mean more creative cropping, the model interacting with a prop (i.e. leaning on a chair), different camera angles, or the model becoming more engaged with the viewer - even if only through her eyes; having her look toward camera is great, but I feel like she's looking over my head instead of at me. If it's her first time, then that will become easier as she gets more comfortable. Of course, if you prefer more static images, that's your choice as an artist, and that's fine too
Judging by your gallery, you have great talent and potential - I look forward to seeing how your studio photography progresses
Unrelatedly, I have that same corset, but with blue instead of green...w00 eBay

The lighting seems a little too harsh in places. But your model is lovely, the color scheme is perfect for her, and a corset is oh, so sexy. Very nice pose, I love how the light is reflected off her lips and eyes, with her make-up being just enough. Overall, I think it's great!

A beautiful photo with a beautiful model. ^__^
The lighting is a bit direct, and personally I think a warmer tone would be more appropriate, but this is otherwise fantastic. Perhaps you could experiment with more smaller, softer lights in the future... This technique here really defines your model, drawing her out from the background, but it still creates harsh shadows.
