Hey, I also have an Aasimar dnd character who burns corpses for the exact same reasons you had below! He's very religious and believes strongly in the cycle of life and death. Course, he also likes burning people before they're corpses. And towns. And basically everything else. He believes strongly in the concept of Ragnarok, eg. the world being a cycle of ending and beginning that is currently delayed, and is trying to hasten its approach. He is a bard.

Sounds neat. Rowan is a lot more pacifistic than that- which is to say they don't go around burning things unless they're sure they're evil. They dig the whole natural cycle thing, but prefer to simply oversee it and make sure it's preserved, rather than actively trying to bring on beginnings or ends on a large scale.
That being said, we recently discovered that the church of Lathander is corrupt and full of fiends for some reason, and Rowan would absolutely not be against the idea of destroying a church if it's full of heathens.

'They enjoy turning into angelic spiders, wishing people good moring and WHAT THE CRAP WHAT?!'
I feel like if I knew more about D&D, that part of the sentence wouldn't have come as such a surprise.

Haha, I love that burning corpses is crazy but turning into an angelic spider is fine.
Nah it actually makes some sense in-universe. Due to Rowan's religious code, they're very anti-undead, as they defy the natural order of death and renewal. Incidentally, a pretty reliable way of preventing a body from being animated as a zombie or something similar is to burn the corpse. So it's actually a pretty practical thing, although it does tend to earn them some odd looks.
Of course Rowan prefers to go for a nonlethal approach when possible, but when it comes to the undead, a switch flips and they kinda get scary. i.imgur.com/oHQWRSc.gif

I'm under the impression there isn't a druid-type figure anywhere in D&D who doesn't take the 'turn into some sort of animal' ability, so that made more sense. The fact that they're 'angelic' (rather than big and disgusting) also makes it more understandable albeit harder to imagine (now I'm stuck picturing Elise from LoL).
And that makes sense, I've heard that kind of approach being referred to in a few other stories as well. They can't come back if there's nothing left of 'em.
And wow, he does not mess around. That really must be the one thing he absolutely hates.

Yeah, the shapeshifting is an innately druid thing.
The angelic thing is quite literal. The Aasimar race has celestial heritage, which basically means that Rowan can temporarily invoke their holiness and sprout ethereal glowing wings and a halo. They can also do this while simultaneously shapeshifting into, say, a giant spider or a giant hyena. It's very anime.

Haha, yeah you're not wrong. I'm working on another little animated thingy based on the same game, so that should be up soon.

"Lathander be with you, sibling", said an almost dwarvishly short and stout half-elf with an Illuskan (Northland human) accent wearing full plate armour with the symbol of Lathander proudly displayed on the chest piece.

"And with you, friend. I hope the morning finds you well," Rowan replied warmly, smiling at the novelty of such a chance encounter. They pulled a sprig of mistletoe from a belt-pouch and clenched their fist, muttering a brief prayer. After a moment they opened their hand, revealing a small pile of juicy-looking berries which had not been there a second ago. They stretched the fruit forward invitingly. "Goodberry?"

"Thank you. You'll excuse if I save it for later." He puts it in his pouch. "Would you care to join us for breakfast? I was about to prepare a Heroes Feast, and even with my friend's bear getting its share, I always make way too much." He steps aside and gestures towards a group of adventurers finishing their morning routines, including a leather-clad woman with twigs in her hair brushing a dire bear.

Rowan's eyes light up at the sight of the bear, and although they address you, their attention is clearly captured by the formidable beast.
"Oh my... your friend is very fortunate to have such a beautiful creature by her side."
They spend several moments staring past your shoulder in silence, before blinking and shaking out of it.
"I'm very sorry, I got lost in thought there for a moment. It must be nice to have such a trustworthy companion. To tell the truth I much prefer the company of beasts to people; they're so much easier to talk to. Your offer is very generous, however if I am to join you it must be brief. I was planning to watch the sunrise, and time is moving on."
Rowan absently scratches the golden mark on their jaw, and glances towards an inn across the road.
"The morning is a good time to get things done, however my travelling companions would disagree. I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name?"

"My apologies. I am called Dawnlord Samson from the Order of the Golden Chalice." He bows slightly.
"If you need to be brief, I fear you won't be able to eat with us, as the feast's magic requires an hour to consume. Though I suppose we can at least say our morning prayers together as we greet our Lord's rising sun."

"What an official sounding title," Rowan remarks.
"I hope you can forgive me, my worship of the morninglord is rather... 'self-taught'. I owe my life to his grace, and revere his principles, but compared to yourself I would likely come across as ignorant. Still, if you will tolerate me, I shall join you for what time I can spare."

"The Lord's Book tells us: Place more importance in activities that help others than in strict adherence to rules, rituals, and the dictates of your seniors. Any way you choose to revere Lathander is a good way, as long as it spreads his morning glory. I see in you a sibling in faith and I shall be honoured to pray with you."

I dunno where to go from here really.
This was a fun diversion but I gotta call it a day or we'll be going forever, haha.
