Just a little poem for my special someone, who was on my mind the entire time I was on base at Pensacola, Florida for 3 days when I barely got to talk to her. I know she's reading this, and I hope I make her speechless like always! lol

I can't get much sleep on this cold, ragged (1)rack.
It's so dark in here, it's almost pitch black.
I've been thinking about her this whole afternoon,
And I'm writing this song by the light of the moon.

Since I got to the base it's been big guns and boats,
But without her, I sink, like when a boat no longer floats.
I look at the ground or look up at a star,
But my mind stays halted, like an engineless car.

During daytime and night, she's right on my mind.
To make this, I must, I feel so inclined.
I can't stop thinking about her even if I tried,
And because of our distance, my love seems to (2)bide.

I stare at a ship or glance out at a train.
Or I stare out the window of my T-6 airplane.
I could stare at a million things without stir,
But nothing can take my mind off of her.

She is my queen and I am her knight!
For her, there is no battle that I would not fight!
I look up to her and see royalty.
My one... my love... has my pure loyalty.

She may not believe me but I'd die for her.
She's earned endless trust, my feelings won't (3)deter.
I love her as much as a cat loves it's yarn,
And she is my home like a horse has it's barn.

But I really hate the fact that she's treated as a maid.
Working hard for her siblings as they joked and played.
They gotta get set straight, like cards that get decked.
And look up to her and show some respect.

'Cause she is worth more than the world's greatest gem.
And without her, I'm nothing, like a plant with no stem.
She thinks just of others, like HER feelings don't matter.
And to knows she feels that makes my spirit wanna shatter...

My love... *clears throat* is my beginning and end.
I live only for her, I refuse to pretend.
Her feelings DO matter, like to this lucky guy.
To let her think different, I won't let that fly.

Girl, you're my life, and can bring a smile to my face.
You are my lifeline, my one saving Grace.
This poem, this song, is dedicated to just you.
I love you with such passion, please know this is true.
