So did I, and even have some old VHS tapes from those marathons (some of them at least), and recently made DVD-R copies just to have around, even if I still own superior looking versions of said films elsewhere.
Oh, are you familiar with Turner Classic Movie's monster movie showings in Thursday all this month?

I wish I would have done that. And no I was familiar with the showings, for I do not have cable. lol. But thank you anyways.

So cool! Sort of reminds me of Yivo....
Sorry... watched most of Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs last night.

It's a good film, so I don't mind the comparison, though Yivo was an entire dimension technically, as opposed to my humble planetoid monster. And I prefer "Bender's Big Score" myself between the four "Futurama" films.

You're right about Yivo, he was a dimension. That's the only one of the movies I've seen... and that was because I was stuck at the motel (again) and it was on whatever channel...

"Attack of the Crab Monsters" is very low budget, but it features Roger Corman's wacky and rather ambitious imagination at the time, which would lead to better projects from the 1960s-to-early-1980s. It's sad how this film gets a lot of flack, while Syfy original movies, "Monster-A-Go-Go", the boring "Santa Clause Conquers the Martians" and Jack Black's "Gulliver Travels" are given free passes, and even heartfelt defense from modern audiences.
MonsterVision was among MY golden age of monster and other fantasy movies on television, and introduced me to many lifelong favorites as well ("The Outer Limits", "Message from Space", "Mysterious Island", "Thunderbird 6", "The Time Machine", "Robinson Caruso on Mars", "Westworld", "The Green Slime", "The Twonky"), and although not an official icon, its nice to know I'm not the only one who remembers the MonsterVision smirking planet logo.
"The Monster that Challenged the World" is a cleaver little gem as well, which also gave me a jump scare as a little kid, when the dam operator was killed by the 'Kraken Sea Snail' at night.
There's also the bizarrely humorous climax, where the mother and child are fighting for their lives, trapped in the laboratory with the 'Kraken Sea Snail', while her military husband and the cynical scientist guy (Hans Conrad) drive causally back to the lab, with suspenseful talk about possibly stopping for a bite to eat.
Thanks goodness they never do, or the woman and child would have been dead meat!
