Interesting expressions, and the pose on Kiara. Though it's a little hard for me to not laugh at her expression. 'Not making fun of your artwork in any way. It's just that Kiara looks a little funny to me here with such a desperate expression you tried to portray on her. But I can see that you did some creativity on this piece, which is great )
Either way, I can see this happening to an extent in the film. But I'm not sure Simba would be shocked at her reaction here considering that he keeps his foot on the ground despite her desperation due to how hard he initially wanted Kiara to conform to him as his daughter and a pridelander.

I wish they would have expanded more on this as well. It would have been great if a scene like this was in the sequel. Nice job!

Kiara: "Is that all I am to you!? Just your replacement!?"
Technically, yes...

While I do love SP it did sets some thin gs up for Kiara during her childhood that they ended up not doing anything with later but, like someone has already mentioned, the movie was definetly greatly affected by it's tight deadline and budget (as were the other direct to vhs/dvd sequels). They still did a pretty good job with what they had overall.

Aww poor Kiara, "You will never be Mufasa!"
It did feel like this drawing could have made the movie even better, it would add more depth to Kiara's character, haha. Brilliant work, I love the atmosphere of the drawing and the expressions <3

It's almost as if Simbas pride didnt have half the budget and time it took to be made, it could've been a truly good and worthy sequel.

Poor Kiara...
Yes,she is a princess and the future queen, but every individuals have his own dreams and somes can be too insecure or too fragile confronted to stress,to face so much responsabilties, when you are King/Queen .
So what I'am trying to tell is that Kiara didn't choose to be Queen, but was forced to be it,when she clearly don't wanted to be...
So do she have the right to be sad about it ? Yes . The whole movie, she wanted to be considered as a person as well,'cause a monarch is a person too .
And even with the fact she was not too happy to become Queen, she was still wise enough, for her young age . And if I think she could be a better Queen,if she is finally considered like a person, and not just an heir . Maybe Kovu could have helped her with it,since he seem to see her personnality before her rank, not like Simba .

That's true that Kiara managed the burden by becoming a bit tougher and less naive that when she was a child .
And yeah,I agree on this point with Kovu : a cool character but was somewhat a tool, and would deserved to have more depth .
I mean, the romance between Kovu and Kiara was kinda rushed, since they fell in love in what,2 days ? I know that Disney's movies are like not very long but come on !
More time for them to discover each other could have been nicer .

Was Simba asked about his desires? His father just ordered him to take his place in the circle of life. And Simba was much less prepared than Kiara.
But the idea is really great and I wish we saw it in the movie.
The quote from the Crown Show.
"Your people will need your strength and leadership. I have seen three great monarchies brought down through their failure to separate personal indulgences from duty. You must not allow yourself to make similar mistakes. And while you mourn your father, you must also mourn someone else. Elizabeth Mountbatten. For she has now been replaced ny another person, Elizabeth Regina. The two Elizabeths will frequently be in conflict with one another. The fact is, the crown must win. Must always win."
Kiara will have to learn this too.
