Its limbs are more useful for walking on land now it has evolved. It can still swim using the large fins on its wrists and tail, and by flapping the large spiny plates on its hind limbs. Shoringon is less aggressive than its relatives, and prefers to hide among the rocks of its home than fight. It can curl up into a ball, using its fins, tail and plates to protect itself. When swimming it uses the gills on its tail to breathe by sticking the tail above water, although it can use the gills on its neck to breathe underwater if needs be. It is often mistaken for a Sharpedo in this way.
