Cell's about to separate and I find it hard to concentrate and...Boldprint. Let's do this.

The lines aren't actually here anymore, save for his face, because it looked weird when I took them out, so his face still has Skylines! ButstillIdigress.

Yeah.
Coloring scales is PROBABLY the most FUN THING EVER. Omg I used purplessss and pinks and greeeens and ughugh it was SO MUCH FUN shading all 4668493020485 of his pretty scales. His hair's doing... something... and his wing membranes are mmmm... something else. Iunno. The background is mmmmm... something else. I heavily referenced a picture of the view from my dorm last year, so it's like he's flying over the Genesee valley lololol.
Anyway! I don't... hate this? The scales looked cooler before I tried to make him look less PINK and more integrated, but I still like them! It kinda makes me wish all my characters were scaled. >___>
Oh! And the download is 2000px wide at half its original size lololol, just in case you feel like seeing what a hot mess he really is <____<
Aaaand yes. Deviation is aptly titled because I can't face the mountain of work I have to do in the next 10 days. Too bad it's almost next week now. Ughugh.

If there is one thing, just one thing, I could critique on, it would be the scales under the wing. There needs to be more shadows there, since the point of light is in the corner of the picture. The lack of shadows makes it look a little strange. : o

To be really honest? You do better coloring with scales than Skysealer.
They are so.. ughh detauled and shiny. Not shiny really. More like a dull shine. But still shines.
It has nice touch. I want to touch it.
ANd FUR on hair. I love how you rendered it. Isn't so clean and super smooth, I love how is bit chaotic. Well shaded etc. I wouldnt repair anything with hair but just add some darker (indigo) shading on hair under wings.
The ONLY very specific critique I'd like to give, no, it's an order XD.
You reaaally should give darker shading on tail. On places under wing. The sun is intense and rising, so the shadows are creepier and darker. This picture is very off without shadows of wing because thats strongest source of shadow.
I SO LOVE GAH I LOVE how you did blurry landscape and clouds! WHAT BRUSH did you use for blurriness?
AND YEAH you improved with coloring VERY VERY MUCH. I hope on vacations you'll have time for moar art <3! AND REMEMBER TO give me description to our collab for your cover XD.

LOL I had so much FUN coloring the Denali you gave me I went WHAT ELSE DO I HA..... OH YEAH! So I blame YOUUUUU *points*
And wark THANK YOU SO MUCH. OmgomgTHANKYOU. The scales were a good amount shinier, but I toned them down a bit for the picture. There are like 6 or 7 WIPs in my imageshack if you want to seeee!

I didn't use any brush for the blurriness! I just did some basic shady things like for the scales, but then I smudgied it with the scatter smudge I showed you before.

WOW look at scaleeeesss! You're MUCH better what I thought *___* HOW YOU DO THIS LOLOLOL?
And yeah what scales you do, are BETTER than Sky's. Definately. Obliviously Sky is supertalented and her details are omglove but I feel they are pretty kindaa.. flat. Doesnt have kind of nice structure, but yours scales have some illuminated colors on them! And SO detailed! ANd GREAT shading on them. I can see pink highlights on legs! Agh. And how scales are little.. umm crushed? I mean they have kind of natural texture. I LOVE green highlights on dark elements! Ughh! ANd horns I love how you rendered them.. that they are HORNS xD. But my suggestion is only I'd choose different highlight than green, because horns should be more earth-y colored xD.
But again.. I'm so impressed. Now I figured what kind of lineart for YOU I should do if we'd do collab in future. Agh, we should even take collabissions xD.

ooooomg Pearl you're flattering me so muchhhhhhh. <333 And yeah! ALL the scales were SHINY and PINK, but I toned them all down so he didn't stick out so much xD. And it wasn't hard at all do do though! I just used a dark grayish-purple and did general shading and individual scale shading, then used a pinkish for his red scales and a greenish for his black scales and had them all at super low-opacity and flow and hardness and just scribbles xD. Then I went over with PINK and GREEN around the edges and some other places. They're really just a bunch of scribbles xD. Here! And oh! I was wondering why his horns looked so plastic-y! I was just having so much fun shading black with GREEN that I did them like that too xDDD.

Gah, yes! I can see how very chaotic it is! You're VERY much like me with coloring XD. When you closeup on my full beautiful drawings (like Coppermine one) which is veeeeeeeeryyyy chaotic in very close up. Everyone things that drawing is smoothly drawn and with verrryyy pretty lines but in fact I add lots of scribbles to make a shape XD. And I add thousand colors too! I can see how beeeauuutifuly Deni's face is illuminating. Greens, oragnes etc..
AND LOOK AT HORNS. Like I said, I SO love when you add different texture. But now I can see plastic looking on them not because of green but also you placed wrongly light on them. That light type looks like on plastic, thats why it makes horn non-3Dish with flat texture. You should have scribble little light parts on texture on horn. I hope I make sense... LOL. I just woke up and spent like 10 mins STARING on details of your drawing *__*
Oh and tell me why Den's head is linearted and the rest is not?

LOL, not that what I meant XD. Also there are not many things which are scaly and you rather should draw DIFFERENT structures than scales. Plus your charas are more furrry xD. I mean now I discovered if we had to do a collab, I should make very clean and smooth lines (not that how I did on Denali and kratos) and lineart should be very detailed to help you guide. And when you're guided, you can make VERY SEXY things- that's how you successfuly did Denali and Sky's Obiq was not success.

His head still has the lines because he looked really weird when I took them off. The rest of him looked kinda soft, but his head looked mushy or... something xD.

My whole sympathy to your art is not because I adore you as friend and as much as Kratos : P but I like how your art is kind of chaotic, scribbles, lines of brush with good sense of color and kind of *deformed* - it reminds sort of my way of drawing XD. The difference is you seems to be much more patient person than I am
I REEALLY want you to go on traditional art someday! :'D Probably in a week of our meeting we wont have much time but in case, Snowie wanted to learn traditionally badly from me too- because there is one and EASY way how to color traditionally very well (like cell-gradient shading) but I must show to you both only in real.
