Description I know that a lot of you want WIP's and walk through's on how I do my paintings. I never paint on several layers as I don't really find it useful. I mean you can always erase and paint over, right? lol. That's how I'm doing it.
The only layer I have extra is the sketch.

On this one however, I had painted on 4 layers. First one was the sketch, second was base colors, third was more advanced colors and shading and fourth was details sort of.

I always paint with a really low opacity on my brush and I use the pen pressure. I also always use hardness 100% on everything, besides some stuff that I want smooth, like some parts of the hair, lips etc. The smooth brush is really just for final touches.

Hm what more can I say?
Oh yea I always sharpen my paintings cause I think it gives you the details better and also I do Dodge, Burn and Smudge tool!

I hope it was somewhat useful to anyone out there in cyber space!

What the text says
Yea my handwriting is weird and hard to read sometimes. So I thought I should enter everything in here as well.

Pic 2. Yes! I do love to smudge!
Try it! Way easier to blend the colors!

Pic 3. Put in some more base colors on (i wrote of in the pic haha) the lips, eyes etc.
I also outlined the hair to see the whole structure of the face better.
Me and my weird ways of painting haha

Pic 4. Hair! Funniest thing to paint! Hard to explain though. Go to my faves and then click on tutorials and you can find some awesome ways how to there.
Also! I never paint hair on more than ONE layer. I think it gets too messy! Remember that everyone have their own style though! Also put in more base colors, or at least I did haha

Pic 5. Paint in all the details like strands, shadows and highlights. I just love the dodge and burn tool! Very useful!
I wanted to give the eyes and the cheeks a more intense look so I painted with the color I wanted and put the layer on soft light.
Last thing I always do is to sharpen it! Gives it a nicer look and brings forward the details if you ask me. I tend to oversharp though so bad bad me!
I always sharpen by going to filter>filter gallery>artistic>paint daubs in Photoshop. Add the value 1 for brush size and value 1-2 for sharpen.
Oh and BTW, I always paint with a low opacity brush!

It's beyond sad! It's tragic. Sometimes DA can be so bias. It's like high school: gravitate towards the popular people whose names me know. Gravitate from all the others. Well, I for one, adore your work. It's a great inspiration. The others don't know what they're missing out on.

I adore your talent

Your biggest problem will be to tell (or remember) people that your work is not a photo

Haha you think? I take that as a compliment lol.
Before I didn't paint with a low opacity brush with hard edges but when I started doing that by accident, the results got way better. It got so much easier to blend colors.

Aah, accidents, reminds me of this:

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
