A little speedpaint, just playing around with different brushes.
Not entirely happy with the result, though I can't exactly tell what bugs me in here. :II know the anatomy is not right, but Rocky anatomy is very hard!! I named my Rocky Pierre now by the way. c:
Around 2,5 hours in Krita and Sai.

Did u color or sketch in krita? I've heard good things about the program and I have an interest in trying it out. How is it?
edit: I'm looking for how good it is for the "painterly" style we both tend to have, btw ^^

I did the coloring in Krita.Β Personally I don't like sketching in Krita a lot, but
it's perfect to get a nice, painterly style with all the nice brushes it comes with.
I don't have Photoshop, but a lot of people say it's a great 'alternative' to it.
It's also quite easy to use, so I would totally recommend it! ^^

I don't know.. You being the good person and friend you always pretend to be and helping the ones in dire need of special assistance? Especially considering how art is not a subject in which one can become 'better' than the other. Even if I was more experienced that you you'd still both have an distinct style and portray entirely different motives.

I agree that it's hard to tell if an artist can be 'better' than another, but I guess it does partially rely on experience actually.
I imagine he'd give an experience boost to draw fur exactly how it looks in your head, exactly how you want it so
that it's no longer frustrating to draw. With experience comes more 'control' over the pencil, being able to change styles more easily
and learn new artistic skills faster etc. An experienced artist is not automatically a better artist, but you know.. It's still very important.
It also often takes many years to actually find your own style, to find a 'right' way of expressing yourself in your work. Again that doesn't mean
you can't express yourself in art without experience.Β Of course you can't judge someone's skill from their style and there's no 'right' or 'wrong' way in art.

At first I wanted to make it more colorful, but I decided to go with mostly sepia shades ;v;
