Description

"They might be quite dumb sometimes and slow to react but their good people. We give them every chance we can to make sure that any who wish to rise above can do so, and they never complain either way. I think they worship us really, they know we saved their species and they will endlessly try to repay that debt never realizing that they dont owe us anything. They fought tirelessly against the Draken, helped build our worlds and ships and stood alongside us as brothers. If anything the Union is in their debt" -Union Congressman

Basic Overview:

The Godoroks are a large and mentally slow species who evolved from the predominantly ocean planet of Rokatan and joined the Union out of desperation. Originally being a species of two castes, one small and smart and the other large but dull a virulent plague ended up killing the smarter of the two, leaving the small Godorok nation to crumble through lack of knowledge or creativity, by the time the Union found them their few starships and off world colonies were already falling apart. The Godoroks themselves are a crab like people who have hard exo-skeletons, large crushing claws and skittering 6 legs around 6-7ft tall but usually quite squat. They are very mentally dull but make up for it by their good build, brute strength and dogged determination. Godoroks communicate via ultrasonic but also through changing pigmentation or designs of their carapace, this was thought to be originally for camouflage but has since evolved into a form of advanced body language.

Extra abilities:

Godoroks have no extra abilities other than their natural adaptions.

Extreme Biological adaptations:

Godoroks have a few biological adaptions, for starters their bodies are covered in a thick exoskeleton designed to withstand the crushing depths of the ocean floor, while making them slow when on land their hardest parts can actually withstand kinetic small arms fire to a degree and can turn aside most conventional melee weapons used against them. Along with this the Godoroks have two main claws with which to catch prey or manipulate large things, these Claws can shut with almost 4000 psi able to crush even metals due to their size and power and allowing them with their bulk to carry and lift huge objects beyond their usual body size. In addition they have two small and retractable arms which feature dextrous and membranous fingers allowing them to manipulate small objects in detail. Despite these bonuses, Godorok brains are actually very small for their size, as such the species is subpar intelligence wise compared to other species, maturing equivalent of a 12 year old human child.

Extra Organs:

Godoroks have many different organs and features than normal species. For example they have a large air bladder under their large back shell, this allows them to raise to the surface quickly when needed and acts as an extra shock absorber for anything which strikes their backs. This is coupled with an excellent organ that scrubs their blood for nitrogen, making them all but immune to decompression sickness which afflicts other species. Thanks to their advanced lung set up Godoroks can use their gills to draw in oxygen to specialised lungs for either water or air allowing them to live in either medium. Their large whiskers as well also allow them to detect sensitive pressure differences in the air, stopping predators from sneaking up on them, albeit these work at their best when under water, despite their 6 eyes Godorok vision is rather poor.

Behavior:

Godoroks are a laid back and highly slow species. While slow to respond and talk to they are none the less kind and caring creatures which surprisingly given their stature are incredibly hard to bring to violence. Unlike other species in the Union Godoroks are not naturally inquisitive to a large degree and are content to keep to themselves and their own species, living in their own bubbles without being disturbed. Given their stunted intelligence Godoroks typically fulfil labour jobs within the Union but notable smart examples do exist, and the Union does everything it can to provide the species with ample social mobility should they choose it.

Well, that's is interesting. A two different casts of the same species that ended up collapsing because one side went extinct and the ones that meets the Union are the labourers.

Indeed true alien is best alien. And sadly not, the genome was mostly lost by the time they found the Godoroks and there was no records of their genetic make up. That and the Union does not want to dabble with the Godoroks genome because they are considered not quite smart enough to accept.

What features are you going to go with? The stereotypical reptile look or add in a more exotic reptile look?
