Description THIS IS CRAP

RUN AWAY

Transparent background
Can be used on any colour

Lots of countries hear the word 'kiwi' and think of a kiwifruit. But THIS is what a kiwi actually is - a failry ugly, squat little bird. I made this quite quickly for the purpose of sending to a non-New Zealander for humourous reasons I care not to disclose. Enjoy.

Emotikonz In reply to Eco-Strata [2011-04-25 05:22:58 +0000 UTC]

Yes I do mind actually, because 1: it is ugly and a shame to my name (seriously, why hasn't this een deleted?), and 2: it isn't even 50x50 so it doesn't work.

Wait, if you don't like kiwis then why did you make it? to convey your impression of this species?

Oh, I like kiwis, I am a NZer after all. I hate this piece of 'art'. Anyway, thanks for asking at least but no, it isn't free-use. I have a gallery with free use avatars though.

KIWIS ARE NAWT UGLY
they're adorable ._. like miniature emus with less neck and more beak. . .

I suppose they are alright - normally I'd be more patriotic, but to an outsider, they're generally quite ugly!
I'd prefer the tuatara or kakapo any day. *snigger*

eh, well i admit sometimes i can have some bizarre opinions about what's cute. . .

i had to google those
they're something else huh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Emotikonz In reply to thescarletaracnid [2009-02-02 23:29:08 +0000 UTC]

The kakapo is another native bird. it's like a bright green flightless parrot. It's really smelly, but a lot cuter.
And the tuatara is a lizard found only in NZ.

Kiwis are alright, but it get's confusing... 'Kiwi' is the nickname for a New Zealander, after the bird, but other countries only get kiwifruit (named after the bird also) and call it 'kiwi' for short. So they're all "What? you guys are FRUIT?"

thescarletaracnid In reply to Emotikonz [2009-02-08 21:29:08 +0000 UTC]

so i see

yea, the only reason i kno that a kiwi is a bird is bc my parents are talking about moving to New Zealand because of the more favorable government

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Emotikonz In reply to thescarletaracnid [2009-02-12 02:47:35 +0000 UTC]

Well, New Zealand is definately very politically stable - being a country that not only accepts, but (secretly, shh) actually REQUIRES immigrants, refugees, and 'eople imports', they can't afford to be fussy about races, nor do they want to.
The only real issue is the Maori. Because they were treated so badly over a 100 years ago by the 'akeha' (any foreigner to the Maori, but generally white people) these days they are fighting for rights to the point where they actually have MORE rights and MORE benefits than any other racial group. And still want more.
But that's more an a nuisance than an issue.

thescarletaracnid In reply to Emotikonz [2009-02-13 23:09:04 +0000 UTC]

oo, sorry
it means. . . oh I see
hehe, a lot of people dont get it at first

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Emotikonz In reply to thescarletaracnid [2009-02-13 23:15:37 +0000 UTC]

Well, i wouldn't have if it was "OIC" or "O I C" - then it's clear you read it like an acronym. Otherwise it looks like you should read: "Oihk".

thescarletaracnid In reply to Emotikonz [2009-02-13 23:18:15 +0000 UTC]

lol, i never thought of it like that, but wut with the pressing the spaces and the caps lock it would be almost as many buttons as typing out the real phrase

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Emotikonz In reply to thescarletaracnid [2009-02-14 00:11:01 +0000 UTC]

But keep in mind that you used heaps MORE letters and time just by explaining what 'oic' meant. So actually, it could save you an awful lot of time just saying "Oh, I see." Plus, people who believe in good grammar and hate text speak (and trust me, there are a LOT of us out there) will appreciate it.

well i dont hav 2 esplain it every time i type it out.
i worry about grammar too, when it's important, but i dont feel like it is online when im talking 2 ppl casually who i feel r friends.
to me if you understand the jist of wut im saying then we shouldnt hav a problem. im not writing poetry im just trying 2 get my point across.
ive got stuff 2 do y waste time being formal just cuz

personally i think if you're that inept at translating internet lingo/jargon/chat speak (and ur not willing 2 learn. . .) perhaps you shouldn't hang out on the internet

Hye, don't take it personally. I can understand most internet speak (although I hate LOL in the real world - my sister says it like it's a real word, but never actually LAUGHS).

hm, sounds creepy
once my art teacher did that, i said something and he said that's funny, but he didnt laugh
i think he might b a cyborg
yea im not a big fan of lol either actually
usually i add a z at the end to giv it flair

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Emotikonz In reply to thescarletaracnid [2009-02-22 02:00:35 +0000 UTC]

Well, I can recognise something is funny or amusing without actually laighing, so I can understand where your teacher is coming from.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thescarletaracnid In reply to Emotikonz [2009-02-24 02:44:42 +0000 UTC]

no, no, you can recognize something might be funny to others without laughing, if something is truly funny to you you cannot help but howl and laugh and lose it over it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Emotikonz In reply to thescarletaracnid [2009-02-24 05:43:40 +0000 UTC]

You feel free to think that, but there are several humourous things I appreciate as funny to me without actually making me more than smile. Homestar Runner for one, I find incredibly funny but I don't laugh at it frequently, wheras my older sister has a much more basic, random and unpredictable nature that, although not 'funny' per se, makes me laugh a lot nonetheless.

cyborg. deff a cyborg.

how can you not laugh at homestar runner??? i mean i know he can be stupid sometimes, but most the time if he's funny he's quite funny. . .

Emotikonz In reply to thescarletaracnid [2009-02-25 06:37:41 +0000 UTC]

I already said I know they're suuuuuuuper funny!
I suppose one factor is that it is all Flash animation, so if I laugh loud enough to go over the dialogue I have to start the whole thing from the beginning to hear it again.
