Wings of Death was my favourite AMIGA-game. There was a lot of very good ones but in this: you were a dragon. Well you started out as a dragonfly and turned into a dragon and then a bat.
Here I practiced values and different color-schemes (you can see it in the video). My original intention was a darker dragon with green and purple as main colors but it ended up this way instead. A softer look and a better contrast.

It is called values (the grey-black-white) it is basically you work from a mid-tone and only darkness and light making it easier to get a depth. It is actually good exercise and you start to think more 3D.

Nope. We have to do it ourselves. We can learn techniques and tricks but the skill itself: only practice and dare to go out of our comfort-zones.

What a good piece of inspiration from an old game from 1990.
I was a little kid at that time.
I have never played this game before and never been into Amiga.
To me it was Nintendo.
