Description
Vacation Bible School artwork. The logo and theme are from Life Way [link] I drew all the shapes (except for the logo) and made them look like they were cut out of construction paper.The theme verse is Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite
~ Psalm 147:5.
In the VBS curriculum the kids will "travel" by plane touring the wonders of God's creation.
Inspired by Bomboland [link] His artwork is amazing.

Nice. We just finished our VBS. a bit different then yours tho by the looks of it. We had ours June 23-27 from 6:30Pm-8:30pm. Ours was ages 3- Leaving Grade 6

the composition is awesome and then you did in Paper which is amazing.
You should change the category to Artisian Crafts-> Folding and Papercraft where is it deserves to be recongized.

Wow, thanks! First I drew out the design in Illustrator because that was an easy way for me to start. Then I found some construction paper stock images that were in different colors. Then one by one I put each vector shape from Illustrator into photoshop and used it as a clipping mask to clip the paper texture. The lighting and shadow effects are really what give it the 3D effect. I did that by using some drop shadow effects, and by using some dark shapes that I blurred and stretched. I used the artwork of Bomboland as reference so I could see how the shadows and highlights should look.

I'm sure there are many ways to do it, that's just the way I did it. Make some shapes, add a texture, and add some shadows.

Thanks, that means a lot. I found myself getting stuck in a rut with my advertising design style. I decided to start challenging myself to try and learn new things. I'm far from where I want to be, but it feels good to learn and progress forward with my talent. It's almost like the feeling I had when I was in school and it felt good to learn. Makes me feel alive.
