Yue smiled as the small bird chirped away within the cage. It fluttered slightly and jumped from the base of the cage to the perch. The more she watched the small creature the more guilty she felt and her smile turned sad.

"What's wrong, love?" Sarin asked as he entered their bedroom and saw her looking upset as she clasped the caged bird to her lap.

"Oh.." Yue noted as she looked up wide eyed, Sarin had caught her by surprise. "I was just thinking how unfair it is of me to cage a beautiful creature." Tapping her fingers along the rungs of the cage, her hand ghosted over the door.

"Hrm..." Sarin tapped his finger against his chin. They'd found the bird a few weeks back. It'd been injured and Yue insisted they take it home and try to help it. She'd done exactly that and since had been telling herself she should release the creature back to the wild, yet hadn't willed herself to do such yet. Sarin closed the door to the room.

"Why don't you compromise?" the half-elf finally said as he sat down behind Yue and leaned in to get a look at the bird.
"How so?" she asked and leaned back into the warmth of her partner.

"You don't want to let it go, we can see that. Why not name the bird?" Sarin spoke as he leaned in to open the door to the cage. Yue's eyes opened wide and she sputtered something he couldn't quite make out.

"Shhhh, it's okay, it can't get out of the room," Sarin explained. "You could also let it out and try to train it a bit let it have some freedom within the room. Perhaps you can enjoy each other’s company more."

Yue nodded but watched the bird intently as it hopped out of the cage. It let out a happy chirp and as Yue held out her hand, it jumped into her palm. She gasped and smiled as the bird chirped at her some more before stretching it's wings to fly around the room.

Sarin leaned in and kissed her cheek, "there, you both look much better now."

Finally got a cute photo of Yue. Winter really puts a damper on my photo taking haha.. and indoors is definitely not a strong suit of mine.
