Thank you! It was really enjoyable for him to cosplay... never seen him object to so many things before. xD!

haha, you're welcome!
Cosplay as Ace attorney character is always the best way to object about everything! xD

This is fantastic! I'm really glad that he went for it with the expression. Very Godot-like and makes the costume stand out even more. ^^

Thanks so much, TifaIA! He was really in the moment for that shot, and I'm glad he was able to replicate that pose easily for the camera. :3 Was a lot of fun for him, I believe.

Well...That's mindblowing!
A really awesome cosplay, particulary enjoying the mask and the vest-really the same.
Gotta say, as someone pointed out earlier, a lil' bunch of hints on "doing the mask" would greatly help! I had done mine in foam, but yours look hella better!

Goodness, thank you for such a long message! ^.~
I am actually putting together a how-to on my blog ([link] ) for the mask sometime next week. I have a .pdf pattern, as well as some progress pictures from last July, and a ton of notes, materials used, etc. So I'll definitely throw that up online for all who are interested! It really wasn't so hard once we made the right pattern. :3
But thank you! I'm pretty happy with that mask overall. There were just some minor things I'd do differently next time.

Aww, geez, thanks on the mask. I really want to share my notes so that I can help others make theirs, so I'll definitely let you know once I get my progress notes up, and if you do decide to redo the mask, I'll be around if you have questions or need help!
And we'll definitely re-wear these cosplays next year for Anime Expo again. I might do the kimono Mia wears from the artwork just for fun! :3

It's really pleasant to have such cosplayers ready to share their knowledge! Much appreciated! I'll sure poke you around when i really need help ^_^
Kimono Mia? Oh...Wow! I can't WAIT to see such pics! I bet anything it'll be awesome!

^_^ I'm glad to be of help, so don't be a stranger if you need help! (I live for making costumes, hehe)
[link] <-- That's the kimono Mia reference. I suppose they're at a festival! I don't think anyone has made the outfit, and it would be fun to wear with Godot.

Thank you for the comment! It was a bit of a challenge, but we're really happy with the outcome. I suppose I should do a "how-to" at some point to help other cosplayers out with ideas. Maybe I'll work on that soon.

I'll get to work on something. :3 I certainly believe in sharing knowledge and experiences. I'll likely post it on my blog. Keep you posted on that~

Hmmm, I'd say perhaps five solid days? The resin had to cure a little, so it was nice and hard for painting. Assembling the silver visor to the larger blackish part was pretty easy... but gluing in the red material was tricky. >.<
All in all, I was a bit rushed to get it finished in time for AX. If I could go back and redo it, I would try to take my time at it!

There will definitely be more in the near future (As I'm a costume design major, and love cosplaying/costumes in general!!)
Hoping to do a Maid version/kimono version of Mia at some point.
But our focus is going to be Shanoa & Albus from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for next year! Wish me luck, and thanks so much for the watch. ^O^/

Elysium-Sans In reply to zanyliz [2011-08-29 05:26:46 +0000 UTC]
Thank you for the kind comment! :3 Appreciate that.
It was a bit of a challenge! We drafted a flat pattern with curves, so that when bent, it has the correct shape from the side. (So it's not just a flat visor) We used wonderflex, backed with a little craft foam (Just for thickness, really) and then I used auto-body resin all over the surface. (Which was messy but sort of fun!)
After it was poreless and perfect, I airbrushed it with aluminum-like hobby paints, and added a UV protetive material to the visor. (It has a sheen like sunglasses, and he can see out, but no one can see in.)
I've been meaning to put together a how to on my blog, but I haven't had the time. Maybe soon, since I'd also like to how-to how I casted/made my magatama for my Mia cosplay.

AHHAHA.
Oh Godot. This is an excellent cosplay.
The only objection (hurr hurr, see what I did thar) is that he's missing the weird armband thing on his left arm. (I'm just nitpicking, 'cause this is great. xD)
π: 0 β©: 1
Elysium-Sans In reply to maoxy [2011-08-28 23:21:35 +0000 UTC]
Thank you!
As for the armband, it is there. :3 Little buckles and all. I believe the angle and hand are obscuring it. :3 (You can see the buckles in all of the other pictures just fine!)
And I don't consider that nitpicking. I'm big on attention to detail, so it'd bother me as well if the bands were not there. xD

D: Yikes. I guess I missed it on this one huh. >_> The only other picture I saw was the one where his left arm was cropped out, so..
But yeah. I'm glad you have that. 8D
Once again, awesome cosplay. How did you make the mask?

Elysium-Sans In reply to maoxy [2011-08-29 00:14:44 +0000 UTC]
Ah! I think the picture that shows it on my profile are the two that have Godot and Mia. The others kinda have his arms cropped out. xD;
Thanks again for your comments! Greatly appreciate it. :3
