They're obsessed to the point of making YouTube videos about how she spends her free time?

Apparently so. They're gonna be so fucked if YouTube bans monetized outrage mining

So what?
Avatar and those Bayformer films are pretty successful, does that make them great films? I somehow doubt it

If they're successful, that means people were willing to go to the theater in droves to watch them.

They're in full panic mode. They can't decide which excuse to use. Some are trying to hand wave it away as "Oh, it FINALLY crossed the billion mark, huh?", trying to play it off as if a billion isn't a huge deal. Others are just not talking about the movie anymore.
One guy who was on the hater train hasn't posted a new video in over two weeks.

I've been dealing with the Anti-MCU mafia for a decade now, and that's pretty much par for the course at this point. They always get themselves worked into a frenzy hoping the latest one will flop and then go radio silent or try to play off its success when their attempts inevitably fail.

Reality always claps back though. I mean look at how fast their empty theater/"Disney bought the tickets" conspiracy was destroyed.

Thankfully, it did die in just a few weeks, as opposed to their stupid "Disney bribed the critics" accusations, which lasted for YEARS.

As much as I love both films, Captain Marvel was (IN MY OPINION) better then Alita. Mainly because the story was easier to follow for me.

I like both movies, to different degrees.
However, regardless of the degrees, I still think both movies have redeeming qualities.
For example, I forgot to mention two more redeeming qualities that I like about Captain Marvel:
- The scene between Carol and the little girl was adorable, kinda like Carol acting as a second mother of sorts.
- When MCU!Carol Danvers overcomes the Knee brainwashing, she acts more like the classic Carol Danvers before the comics turned her into an insufferable, unlikeable Mary Sue. I would love to see MCU!Carol Danvers visit the comics universe and punch Mary Sue Comics!Carol Danvers in the face.

Yeah. I can understand why Alita ended the way it did, as it was totally gearing up for a sequel, but Captain Marvel's was much better in my opinion.

I will also say that the MCU Captain Marvel is a better version of the character, in my opinion.
No offence to those who love the comics, but I, personally, found her comic counterpart to be...well, distasteful in terms of personality. So, I'm very happy that the MCU made her a much more likeable character.

It depends on what era you're reading. Carol is plenty likeable in many of the older stories she shows up in, but yeah, the 21st Century has not been kind to her.

That's true.
I'll be honest, I'm more familiar with Carol when she was Ms. Marvel. I'm not entirely sure if she was similar to what she is now or very different, however.

Current era Carol is where most of the doubts and criticisms of the movie come from. Marvel Comics has really turned her into a Mary Sue in the last ten years. Has no bearing on the film, either.Β

Really? That's....really disappointing coming from Marvel.
It's good that it has no effect on the film.

Also, Iβm just a little peeved that Mar-Vell wasnβt introduced first, with the potential for Carol to become Captain Marvel afterwards, as in the comics. Not saying the movie still canβt be good, but sometimes I wonder if the people guiding the MCU right now have forgotten that their movies are adaptations of decades-old classic characters.

That's fair enough. I can't say I've ever really gotten that impression, but I won't argue. "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" didn't use Mar-Vell much before moving onto Carol, either.

She doesn't actually hate white men, you know? She just wanted some more chairs pulled up for minority and women journalists as well. She never said anything about excluding the white men from the coverage of the film.
I'll admit it doesn't look like the best MCU film, but I'm still going. You'd be amazed what spite against MCU-haters who have been hounding me for a full 11 years now can do as a motivator.

I agree. "Alita" was awesome. Don't the deviation personally. Just having a bit of fun with the people who decided it was a good idea to pit two movies against each other.
