“ My dear, I feel like I mustn’t lie to you” she smiled, “your parents sold you to me. You are not a student here, but my servant, do you understand? Yes, you are here to learn, but it is not about books. You are here to learn about tidiness.”

“ Principal,” I gasped, stunned. I became so weak that my head rested on the hand that held my face up, and I leaned in enough to rest my hands against the soft cushioning on the bed, and asked, “ Why… why did they sell me, Principal?”

Her expression seemed to soften, but still posses a malevolent stare, “ They told me they didn’t like you, dear; Something I rarely hear from dear parents about their daughters.”

“They are not my parents, my real mother died… and my real father was nowhere to be found.” I said quietly, “The ones who raised me are not my parents… I rather belong to you than to them, honestly…”

She seemed to let me speak what was in my heart about them, and something of her expression changed as well while hearing my last sentence. The next thing I know, I was resting in her embrace on the bed, and she was softly running her fingers through my hair. I would stare at her questioningly, before feeling a light tug at my hair, forcing me to pull my head back and yelp a little at the pain, “ My dear, my sweet, such fine words please me to no end.”
