I did a Murtagh too:/Took previously done Murtagh's clothes and made him have some armor and stuff. I even revived Zar'roc's design. Man, I wont let my design from when I was 15 die. It's just stuck. I will always draw it as this....because it's a freaking dragon's head. Like c'mon!
Anyways, ~HotaruYagami said that they would love to see a traditional Murtagh from me....So I did it, because Murtagh is unloved in my gallery and I feel bad. Plus I am in the copic marker mood....and it's fun!
This Murtagh lacks fun colours....but those reds are pretty!
And yea, that is the symbol for "Misery"/ Zar'roc. Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia says so.
There you go Murtagh fangirls! Somehow I know that you are all very happy now.

Hey, I have a question about that symbol you mention in your comment: do you mean that thing on his armor? I don't have the book, this is why I ask. But if this is HIS symbol, then I will use it... and draw it... and use it for a tattoo... XD (No, no tattoo for me.)

Yes, that thing on his armor, it's also on zar'roc. It means misery and everything. In the book it has both zar'roc's and brisingr's symbols. I'm pretty cure that zar'roc's symbol was in the eragon delux edition too. I just don't know if it's the same one.
But it's pretty much official.

I checked the deluxe version, it's just a bit more intricate.
I only have the deluxe version of Eragon because it came in the eragon and eldest boxset. It just came with a very big fold out map of Alegaesia and on the back is a drawing of zar'roc.
I don't have that new guide book though...I flipped through it in the bookstore....and besides the sword designs, it isn't that useful.
