I like the story! Some sort of psychic link between the xenomorph and the boy, I find it very interesting. I also like the fact that both of them are "blind". You should continue it!

That's depend when.
If they met during the period when they are trapped on the space ship (and they basically have to run away from both the alien colonies), they would be extremely scared at the beginning, especially by the xenomorph. Since they are not familiar with domesticated xenomorphs - yet-  they would be nervous but eventually they would get familiar (if the xenomorph doesn't attack them).

It would be completely different if they met when they are already on the Rotten Earth, since not-violent xenomorph would be normal for them -at this point.
(Rooth and  Derek tend to stay on their own but would gladily apreciate an alliance to make their life easier)
