A local group I sorta-kinda belong to (I’m not much of a joiner, but they’re very patient with me) called Comic Jam Hawaii has been inviting me to take part in a 4x4 Comic Quilt Challenge to help decorate the wall of our local comic book store, which actually is kind enough to carry my own comic book.
I’ve put it off all month and the deadline was today. We could do anything we wanted as long as it fit in a 4x4 tile, and do as many tiles as we wanted. I just did two, but I wanted them to sort of fit together. You can imagine I needed little encouragement to draw our guy, and I decided to include one of my favorite space babes from my childhood, the gorgeous Miss Barbarella.
Don’t worry about her, kids. He thinks he’s collected her for now, but she’ll get out. She’s Barbarella. Then she’ll kick his ass and probably make sweet snugglebunnies with him, because, after all, she’s Barbarella. Such is the way of things.
