Sooooo on a scale of 1 to 10 how dead is this poor lad?Well, it's mer-May and I enjoy all things nautical-themed, so I decided to do a little something for fun now that classes are all over
I definitely prefer a beautiful but deadly take on mermaids (sorry Ariel I still love you too!) I like both kinds 
If you like the siren kind too, I highly recommand to watch the show Siren on Freeform. It's a pretty new series which second season was airing at the beginning of this year. They are re-newed for a season 3 which airs next year (if I have to make a guess I think it will air somewhere March or April). It's main character is a siren from the deep who comes to land in search for someone. Then she befriends two marine scientists and they develop a very deep and beautiful bond. Though the siren needs to learn how to survive on land/in human society. She is feral but very curious, intelligent and compasionate for her species^^
(what I find so great is the actress' acting. Beautiful mix between animalistic and humane tendencies. Her aquatic form is also based upon survival in the deep. Think; claws, sharp teeth, gills, extra fins for balance etc and covered in small scales all over)

4; he looks pretty calm and collected, considering the circumstance. However, she's pretty confident-looking.

That mermaid looks pretty darn creepy and scheming, so I'd say the boy is 8/10 dead
All that aside, I really like the lighting, it gives the picture an intimate sort of feeling. The almost predatory look on her face feels less mermaid and more Siren to me

When I view other peoples art I tend to closely examine it to learn how others work.
Everything in this is flawless, you have awesome skill, the lighting is phenomenal!

1, yes she is deadly but he is about to say something witty that will force her to smile.

Love this! As for her expression, she looks more curious than femme fatale to me. Of course that curiosity could still be deadly, as she drags him down just to see what happens, like a boy pulling the wings off a fly.
