I'm up for more if you wanna do anything else. Half the reason I don't complete crap is because of how much I hate how my inks are turning out lately.

Give brush & ink a shot. You can get some very cool line width and texture variation! A good waterproof ink is a must, especially if you're going to be experimenting with ink washes. That way whatever you already laid down won't run or bleed.

I currently create purely digitally because I haven't got the space to set up a good paper / pencil / ink station where I'm currently staying. Plus I'm absolute ass with real ink. Well, not TOTAL ass. But about 50% of the material of whatever I produce is white-out. The rest is paper, graphite and ink.

Hmmm. Well if digital ink's the way you want to take it, I'd suggest Paint Tool SAI. It's cheap, and it has an unparalleled brush algorithm that makes it perfect for digital ink!

I've tried it here and there and I'm not sure it's my cuppa. I love the ink tool in GIMP, I just don't love the poor control I have over the speed of the tablet's pointer. I think I actually have to slow down the mouse pointer to slow down the tablet.
